Could anyone recommend a GOOD pair of walking/running shoes? In addition, could someone recommend a good pair of biking shoes? I've looked but I have absolutely no idea what to look for or what to stray away from.

it all depends...everyones feet is different. and shoes are all made different too.

the key is to try some on, and see which ones fit you best and feel good on your feet. they should be snug around the mid foot, not too tight in the toes (to prvent callouses) and your heel should not slip out when you walk.

Go to a running store and take your old sneakers with you. They'll analyze your sneakers and then watch you walk or run. Then based on how your body works they recommend the right shoes. Everyone is different. I like Saucony and Nike but can't wear New Balance. Good luck on your search.

Brooks are my fave running shoes.. but yeah everyone is different. Check our your local running store. They usually have someone to help find the perfect shoes. They even watch you run/walk on the treadmill in order to evaluate your step/stride. :)

I recently learned of running shoe stores and they will fit you and have you try on different brands to see which ones fit you the best. You pay a little more, but you gain lots of information and get great shoes!

I would recommend getting fitted by a pro at a running shop or something. I have a wide foot and like Mizuno, Brooks and New Balance. Good luck.

This is the part I'm concerned with. I know that I need to choose what's right for ME - but I'd like to gather some information on who constructs the best quality shoe.

Thanks! I'll have to find a running store near me.. I didn't really think about looking for something like that.
