...but I'm gonna do it anyway!

I'm going to GET RID OF my jeans that are too big. I have about 6 pairs now of size 16 jeans that are now HUGE on me...and off to Goodwill they go! In the past I would hang on to my "fat clothes" in case I gained the weight back, and you know what? I always did! Maybe this is a way of moving past that and really making this a permanent change.

*gulp.*

Good for you! It's tough to take that step but it feels so good!

do it so you can't go back!!! I think that is awesome. My friend got rid of all of her "fat" clothes (she gave them to me :grumble: ) but it was a great decision for her and she got to go buy a ton of pretty new clothes!

WTG!! The idea of getting rid of my "fat" clothes scares the crap outta me. But you're right, if you don't have clothes to accomodate regaining weight you'll be more motivated to NOT regain.

get rid of them..don't let them hang out waiting for you to gain it back..just purge..everything that doesn't fit give it away.
And do the same when you shrink out of each size!
  • That's a good idea :) If your goal size starts feeling tight, you'll just have to go back to what you did to lose the weight for a little bit until they feel better!

I've been a size 16 for years, even with 30+ lbs fluctuation so when I finally get out of 16s I'm definitely getting rid of them to celebrate :drinker:

You go for it! I am buying my new clothes (the smaller ones) from a charity shop as well as giving them all of my old, bigger stuff. I'm hoping I'll only be "borrowing" it for a few months, and then giving it back again once I'm ready for a smaller size again

i have been doing the same thing - giving them to people on their own journey so they dont have to keep buying new sizes. It IS scary - but liberating at the same time too!
