I have a bodybugg and I love it! It seems to be very consistent and accurate from what I can tell.

I have a BodyBugg. I really like it, enough that my mom wound up getting one.

I was thinking about getting one as well, but I just can't afford it. I have a HRM though that I use to track my exercise calories. That works good for me right now.

I have the Bodymedia Fit. I really like the information it tracks for me, and find it very reassuring to see that even on days when I miss working out, I can still stay at a caloric deficit. I was also surprised to see how many steps I take while shopping at Costco. It's like going for a short hike, if only you can resist all the samples! I have the USB version, which only can be plugged into a computer. I have heard the Bluetooth version is a little flaky about synching, but it may have been fixed by now. I have also heard that Bodymedia's website is better. Read current reviews to find out which is best for you. I wear it on my calf when biking, otherwise on my arm as suggested.

One thing I have used it for is calibrating the calories burned settings on my heart rate monitor. The HRM has different fitness levels you have to choose based on how often you exercise. Mine was reading way more calories than my Bodymedia or web based calorie calculators, so I had to set it below my actual activity level to get an accurate read. I live at high altitude so maybe that messes it up, although I am fully acclimated to it. Now both devices give me similar numbers most of the time, and when they don't, I usually pick which one to trust based on the activity. The HRM reads too many calories burned while lifting weights, the Bodymedia reads low for cycling.
