Tough times don't last, tough people do.

It does inspire me. Very simply stated, but very true.

This quote is being printed on my fitness business card:

"There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going." -- Beverly Sills

This couldn't be any more true--especially with our fitness goals.
  • Mine is a quote I saw on this site - "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels!" So true! I am taking my son and his two cousins trick or treating tonight and I am not even tempted to eat the candy! I want the skinny so bad I can taste it!!! LOL!

I try to live by this quote, or at least think about it when I'm busy moaning and complaining. It helps make me shut up!

Sister, there were people who went to sleep last night
Poor and rich and white and black
But they will never wake again.
And those dead folks would give anything at all for just
five minutes of this weather or ten minutes of plowing.
So you watch yourself about complaining.
What you're supposed to do when you don't like a thing is change it.
If you can't change it, change the way you think about it.

    - Maya Angelou (quoting her grandmother)

This is the quote that explains my weight loss journey. I was finally ready to change.

It's not that some people have willpower and some don't.
It's that some people are ready to change and others are not.
