sport injury recovery - split tendon

hi all,
I'm here because I want to lose the weight gained during the last 11 months while not being able to exercise due to a split tendon in my foot.
I was quite happy with myself, then got a little new love flab (from all those nice meals and little time to exercise when freshly in love).. then I had just started running and thai boxing again and hurt my foot last august. thanks to myself trying to be a no drama queen and the UK health system it took until I had an operation, 4.5 weeks in a cast and now I am slowly recovering.

I don't know how much exactly i gained in that time, but I'm guessing around 5kg. now I want to lose aroun 7kg, but mainly to fit back into jeans I bought 2 years ago, so i have no scales.

Do any of you guys only have a few kilos to lose and/or are restricted in your exercise possibilities?
