I've just gotten two blisters on my feet from my run. Just wanted to know if anyone knew the quickest way to heal a blister?? I don't want to stop running, I'm on a roll! Also these were not new shoes, I've had them for about 4 months.

Thanks for the help!

I used to get them all the time when I was an athlete, I took a sterilized safety pin and poked a little hole to let the blister drain (do NOT rip the skin off! ) then covered with neosporin and bandaids, or moleskin, or the special bandages just for blisters. But don't rip the skin off, it needs to stay there until the blister heals, and keep it clean so you don't get it infected

wool running socks, I have to sometimes wear large band aids over the area......

I wouldn't even pop them if possible, unless the are very large or in the way. I worked in Athletic Training for awhile, and our head trainer called them "nature's band-aid". Put some neosporin and band-aids over them when you run again to reduce friction and prevent them from getting larger.

I had the mother of all blisters when my running shoes finally signaled that they were dead. They wrapped around my entire heel. I popped them open with a sterilized needle and squeezed out the liquid (gross sounding), but they dried up much faster and healed without a scar. Also- I found that investing in good socks: form fitting, moisture wicking, low cotton content variety- the whole nine-yards was a miracle preventative for blisters (plus new shoes, seeing as the backs were ripped out of mine).
