Hello Everyone !!

I have been reading all the information I can about juicing. I would like to try it, but don't want to invest in an expensive juicer that will make great OJ if all the boards are full of hype. Does anyone know of a good product out there that won't cost an arm and a leg to make quality juice from either vegetables or fruit. PLEASE HELP!! Thanks

I have this one. I like it.
Also, watch the movie and click on the "ready to start juicing" button.

I'd rather eat my calories. I don't know why people juice? Unless they have a problem with digestion.

I hate to sound weird, but when you say" I have this one" are you referring to the one in the movie??

I just saw that documentary 10 days ago and thought I'd try juicing for a weekend - for me personally, I HATE to chew veggies so this is great for me because I don't get enough nutrients and I know this - I ended up juicing for a week and still doing it. I have so much energy and all my cravings (sugar, caffeine, refined carbs) have disappeared. I don't feel bloated anymore and feel like for the first time my system is giving me real feedback - I had my first solid meal a week into the juice fast and stopped when I was full, it feels like it's 'reset' my system (not to mention giving my digestive system a break). I was addicted to sugar and caffeine and my body's signals were all screwed up. I plan on juicing indefinitely at least one meal per day, mixed in with healthy fats and proteins - don't plan on putting the crap back in my diet either :)
I just have a GE juicer, but I want to get the one they had in the documentary - it's about $150 and supposed to be a really good one. Hope this helps!

Check out the Freecycle.org in your area. You could potentially get a good machine from someone who just lost enthusiasm.

    Or

Do a little research online then check out craigslist you could get a good machine for a fraction of retail price. (If you can find a users manual online you can see the parts list to make sure the one you buy has all it's parts)

Thank you everyone for all the feedback. I think I may try iot for a weekend as well and see what happens. My father has kidney problems and is on dialysis and I think this could help him alot as well.

Be sure to start slow when buying the veggies/fruit. I made the mistake of buying a few days worth and once I tried the juice (I got the recipes off the ReBoot website), I wanted to vomit. I couldn't handle the taste or smell (wet, cut, grass). I went with just a few fruits and less (a lot less) veggies for the second juice, but I still didn't like it. So, just beware. It sounds great, but to me, the taste was horrible.

    Good luck!

I have been juicing for 4 days...I have lost 15 pounds! Ridiculous...and amazing. I feel better than I have felt in a LONG time! I will say it was hard the first couple of says with the cravings...but they have already subsided and I sat in a break room with people eating yummy smelling food and I didn't even care. I don't know how long I am going to do it...but as long as I can...and I feel good. Watch that movie mentioned above...it is pretty inspiring! I have not liked a couple of the recipes...but I just keep trying different ones until I find some I like! So far...there is a gazpacho one that is yummy...and a lemonade one that is pretty good...and any fruit ones are of course good...lol. I try to do more veggie though. Like 80% veggie 20% fruit.

can you post the gazpacho recipe, as well as the lemonade one? or did you find them on the reboot website? thanks!
