Not getting sodium back from exercise entries!

Been exercising at least 30 minutes a day, sweating like crazy since I'm doing Insanity. When I enter my exercises into the fitness tracker, I get back calories, carbs, and fats to eat. However, I don't get back any sodium! Isn't that what I'm losing when I sweat a lot? My not getting back any extra sodium to eat is making it hard to eat back my exercise calories without going over. I'm not eating anything bad for me either. Like today, I had vegetarian refried beans!

What should I be doing? Stay within the 2,500 sodium range, regardless? Should I even count sodium if I'm working out with Insanity? If I can go over, to compensate for sweat, how do I know what my limit is? Any help would be appreciated, this problem has been bugging me all week!

I was literally wondering the same thing like five minutes ago...as i went over a decent amount...yet worked out....so therefore you would think it would definelty decrease your sodium....it makes no sense....hopefully we can find some answers...!!

Stay within the 2500 guideline. I've finished Insanity, so I know how you feel. Try finding areas to cut back on the sodium...I stopeed eating deli meats, and started grilling fresh chicken breasts for lunch (cut out about 400 mg of sodium in lunch alone!!!). I also eat some form of healthy chip- and I look for the lowest sodium I can find.

I honeslty don't know the makeup of sweat- I would assume there is some salt in it, but you should definitley not eat back salt you lose. The less, the better!!!

2500 is the maximum FDA recommendation for someone eating a 2200 calorie a day diet. So there really isnt any need for you to get more even with working out heavily

**Edit: Though my diary hasnt been perfect recently even when I was getting 1.5 hour cardio workouts daily I dont go above 1500 most days. 800-1200 is all you need for normal cell function so 2500 is more then enough when sweating**

Many people agree that the 2500g of sodium for a woman eating less than 2000 calories a day is excessive. I've heard you really want to try to stay under 1500 if possible.

It's do-able. Just limit your processed foods as much as possible.

My sodium intake is HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. I should be concerned with it but I like the convince processed things bring me.

I usually eat around 900-1700mg of sodium per day, whether I exercise or not. Your body doesn't need more than 1000mg daily to function, but up to 2500mg won't hurt.

That's a good question. I've recently been learning about sodium levels and what the recommended max. is. 2500 mg. Which, when you start to keep track of it seems impossible!

If you look for the fat free or low-fat versions of things, the salt is much higher!

It's like you have to pick one or the other. Or there's also the sugar levels.

My mom used to tell me, "Salt is a flavor enhancer." She'd also say that about sugar and fats. It's true! Unless you're eating fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grains, you probably have fat, sugar, or sodium making that food tasty.
