well my top half has always been skinnier then my bottom half,
since now losing 5lbs its getting even skinnier rib cage shows, collar bone, shoulder bone more prominent and its really close to how i want it to be.

but my bottom half is a different story, the fat on my thighs and bum are deeming really stubborn and its annoying because whilst my top half is achieving my bottom half is failing.

i dont know what to do!

I heard that long distance running will help thin out your inner thighs, I guess running for only a short amount of time makes your thighs bulky and muscular. And for you bum try looking for toning exercises:)

Keep pluggin' along! I have the opposite problem. My upper body is the last (and I mean VERY last) to show results but when I keep going, it finally comes off. (Of course it is also the FIRST place it comes back when I gain ANY weight....GRRRRRRR).

In the past when doing a bunch of cardio I always lost from my stomach first and was left with big thighs/butt. This time around I am incorporating a lot more strength training...30 Day shred, No more trouble zones etc and I swear my hip area has gotten significantly smaller, but butt has shrunk but in the good perky way (not flat) and my thighs are definitely a little better, although I think they will be fighting to be the last to go still lol. So my advice is try squats, lunges, etc using your own body weight and you should see some slimming in those areas:)

I have the same problem! Squats, running, jump rope, and leg lifts are all really good for that issue. Check out bodyrock.tv and there are a lot of routines for that.

It's genetic. You gain fat in specific areas in a specific order, and you lose fat in specific areas in a specific order. There's nothing you can do as far as picking and choosing where to lose fat and where not to lose fat. You just keep working, and eventually it all comes off.

I started taking long walk in a brisk speed about a month ago. Say 5-10 miles, 4 times a week. Would this work? I don't know yet...

While I'm still a lot meatier on bottom than on top, running + strength training has reshaped my body, as you can see in my profile pic.

I was always a definite pear. I'm more balanced now.

I'm dying to know the same. My thighs are much, much bigger than I think they ought to be compared to my upper body, and it's really depressing!

Stair Master machines are supposed to be good for the behind. If your treadmill goes on an incline that will also help the behind.

I know exactly what you mean. My hips and butt are really wide but below my knees are really thin and my upper half is really thin.. I look like an upside down triangle on the bottom.

I walk on a treadmill at the highest incline and do not hold on... that has helped shape my legs up a bit. I also do a lot of squats and lunges with my trainer.. and while I hate them with a fiery passion, it has really helped my lower half balance out.

You're female. Hips and thighs are a genetic predisposition. Embrace them because I'm sure there are guys that want to.

I have 15 pounds to lose to be at my ultimate goal. I am eating right but not losing the weight. I just closed my account with wwatchers because it stopped working. Does anyone have any suggestions?

This. I was just complaining that my size 4 suit jacket fits while my size 10 pants are too tight.

For curiosity sake, what wasn't working for you with WW and how long were you doing it? I'm wondering because I did WW for a while myself.
