Seems like lots of snacks and no real meals....0

I would try to start cutting back on sugar. If you feel like you need a sweet, eat fruit or a small handful of dried fruit. Add more protein and veggies would be good as well.
Feel free to add me. I would be happy to help any way.0 -
Exactly what I thought. Lots of snacking and no real meals. You need to increase your fruit and vegetables and stop snacking on things like M&Ms and getting most of your calories for the day from a bag of chips!0

yah i agree w/ the snack comment. you need some real meals. Healthy ones. There have been tons of healthy recipes posted on here. If you want an idea I am very consistent you are welcome to look at my diary. I drink Shakeology every day b/c it's a meal replacement, tasty and fills me up. It keeps me satiated and then also helps to lose weight altho i am no longer going for that. You need a heck of a lot more protein in your diet.0

I thought exactly the same as the others about the snacking which seems to be happening instead of regular meals.
I see that you do eat meat and chicken so are not vegetarian, can you add some lean meat into your diet, maybe one meal of meat or chicken a day with some mixed vegetables? It will really fill you up for longer than the sugar as well.0 -
Cook and make up some healthy cassarole dishes or things you can divide up and freeze. I have to agree on the snacking food list. You need to improve on the choices, and there's lots of choices on healthy foods and dishes you can make up. Heck, even if you buy some frozen dinners like smart choice or anything along those lines you will be doing much better. Hope this helps and great success to you.0

part of the problem is i live at home and i have a mother who dictates what i eat halfway. i do not eat pork for religous reason and she is constantly forcing me to. tonight she served pork roast and taht was the only thing for supper. no sides. so i snacked before supper and then just didnt eat at the table and of course she got mad and yelled and we fought about it and blah blah blah but you know. so then she wont let me eat after taht. i wanted to cook myself an egg and have that but she said no. i dont want to be disrespectful but i am old enough to decied what i eat.0

likely at the same place where you get the dr. pepper icee you can pick up a ready to drink muscle milk light shake instead (more protein).
it does seem like a lot of carbs (snacks) and too few veggies. i think many people eat this way because it is quick and convienent. here are some ideas for you that may work with your lifestyle:
bags of prepacked baby carrots are quick and convienent and you can carry them with you.
make a salad from a grocery store salad bar throw in hb eggs or cottage cheese or a tuna pouch packed in water.
steam fresh frozen veggies no sauce with a gorton's frozen shrimp/tilapia/salmon filet would be quick microwave dinner option.
healthy choice soup or those steam fresh quick entrees are shelf stable and could go with you.
i've found you have to slowly transition from prepacked snacky items to healthy substitutes. if you don't have time to cook there are still healthy options.
if you need to keep your peanut m&ms ok but what are you willing to give up?
how bad do you want it?0 -

and in a calm voice i would politely say "Thank you for preparing this food and generously giving me a place to live. I am trying to lose weight and be healthy and I don't eat pork. Instead of skipping this meal, I'd like to make myself something different for my dinner tonight. Will you support my decision? Can I cook for both of us tomorrow?"
Good luck!0 -

a. i didnt buy the dr.peper icee. someone bought it for me. i dont remeber the last time i left the house when it wasnt for church or an appointment. I dont do the grociery shopping mainly because my mother has the refrigerator so stuffed withfood you couldnt put anything in it. same goes for the pantry. I would love to get my hands on some cellary and some apples and some tuna but i cant. their might be some in the pantry but its about this high and about this wide and its about three feet deep and its kinda hopeless to find anything in there. i have tried organizing but the next day it is back to the way it was.
b. i know this isnt whats best but i try to control portions.
c. convieninces isnt the problem. the problem is getting it.0 -
I am sorry for your situation. I would sit down with your parents and explain, and ask if you can go grocery shopping with your parents the next time you go out. Why don't you leave the house? If it's for a lack of driving, can you ride your bike to the store and then buy healthy foods there? If you live in a rural area, can you order some groceries online and have them delivered to your house? Sometimes it may take a drastic action for your parents to realize that you truly want to get healthy.
Since it's the summer, maybe you could get a summer job to get you out of the house? If you get a job at a restaurant, you could possibly eat meals there, and that would be easier.
I would also consider telling your mother that you are going to eat something for dinner. It's one thing to tell a five-year-old to eat what is prepared, but I see that you're 21 (so am I). If I don't want to eat what we're eating for dinner, I tell my parents and then make my own meal. My parents don't ever take offense to it.
However, if your parents won't budge, maybe it would be in your best interest to start saving up some money and move out on your own, or consider going to a college that is further away from home so you can start making your own decisions.0 -
don't waste calories on soft drinks (or any liquids really)
drink more water or diet cordial (preferrably water)
meat!
vegetables (fibrous types like broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, cabbage etc are very low cal so you eat a LOT)
salads
Stop buying M&M's
If you have to get fast food, don't get fries. Nutritional value close to zero, lots of bad fats etc.
You're protein is ridiculous low IMO.0
