HRM VS MFP accuracy?

I recently got my hands on a New Balance N4 HRM. I was wearing the HRM for the 2 hours I was out and about (run/walk/hiking) and it told me that I burned 1279 calories. MFP is telling me that I only burned about 835. I was under the impression that MFP is usually really high... which is more accurate?
and yes, it has a chest strap

i have the same one! I would go with the HRM. it knows where your heart rate was. assuming that you already programed your weight and all that fun stuff! lol0

yep...HRM all the way!0

One thing to keep in mind is that if you use a traditional HRM along with caffeine, the caffeine makes your heart rate increase somewhat, which will make the HRM have a larger margin of error.
At least, thats what I hear. But I would still go with the HRM, and just not eat back ALL of the burned cals.0 -
My HRM is the same way.0

I have the same HRM and sometimes I noticed that if I am by powerlines in town my Heart rate shows 230 ish and i am just sitting in my vehicle driving??? So I run or excersise where there are none and I get a more acurate reading.0

I have the same one, use that number. we burn calories all day even if we're not doing traditional exercise. think about it, most of use would be a lot bigger if we never burned off any of the food we ate while we were putting on weight. lol0
