Hey Peeps,

Just wondered if anyone could give me some advice on the best heart rate monitors. I want something i can literally wear all day and give me a accurate reading of calories burned.

Thanks in advance.

I see you are from the UK same as me. I can recommend Lloyds Pharmacy's own make. It's only £14.99 at the moment. I don't know about wearing it all day though, I only wear it when I'm exercising.

Wearing a HRM device all day will not give you accurate calories burned since your body needs calories just to function. HRM devices are good for when you workout only. Rather it is at the gym at home or out walking and or running.

Sorry if that seemed like a stupid thing to say, i literally got the idea after watching Americas Biggest Loser as all the contestents wear theirs all day.

If you want something that you can wear all day(like on the the biggest loser) you need the body bug or body media fit or fit bit.

Each is pretty expensive(around 100-300 dollars) plus body bug has a monthly fee that needs to be paid in order to operate it.

Then you're talking about a Bodymedia Fit - which is also available in the UK, but is called a KiFit (www.kiperformance.com)

    I have one & I love it....!
  • I wear my Lloyd's one all day, but only turn on the counter when exercising.
