Anyone watch Teen Mom?

Anyone watch Teen Mom around the same age of 28? Maybe I'm too old but I think since I'm a mom I know how hard it is to raise a child so to see a teen do it, its like Wow I give you credit for growing up. Unless of course they don't want to take that responsibility. Usually the parents help out tremendously but overall its the girls who endure the struggles and pains. I think it has helped other teens realize how hard it is. Any thoughts?

I absolutely watch it and I'll be 28 in October:) I watch it more for the drama factor though.0

I also love that show and I'm 26, lol.0
-
Well im 22....have a two year old. I think the show is crap but I still watch it for the above reason as a drama factor0

I'm 28 years old & I watch it! :blushing: I don't even have kids yet, but do have a niece & nephew who are toddlers. The girls of course are very immature, but I get hooked on it!0

It's a guilty pleasure of mine.
Also love 16 & Pregnant. I had my DD at 17 my senior year of high school so I understand what they are going through. However, I didn't act like that. I guess I was an exception where it actually made me "grow up" lol0 -

26 with no kids and I still watch. The girls in my office: 32, 41, 46 and 43. It's what we talk about Wednesday morning.0 -
Yup, I watch it... I am 31...0

Well I'm not in my 20's (Im 35) but I love that show. I was a mom at 20 so I can kind of relate to them. I watch every episode. Macy and Bently are my favorite (she reminds me of myself). Gary and Amber are complete psychos but keep the show interesting. Farrah is gorgeous but should show her mother way more respect! So there ya go...can't wait to see the upcoming show tonight :-)0

I'm 23 and watch it. I was technically a teen mom. Had my first daughter at 19. But I was married had a place to live and a full time job. It still annoys me that I was put in that catagory.
I feel the show at first was trying to give teens the idea of what being a teen mom was like. I hate going to the grocery store and seeing teen mom blah blah blah. They are getting famouse out of this. They get to be in magazines and they make it look glamourous. So how many teens are going to try to get pregnant to get on the show to get their 15 minutes of fame. So sad. (That is my view not dissing anyone that watches it)0 -
I watch also, and I'm 31!0

thats how i feel. i had my son when i was 21 so i know theres a big maturity difference from a 16 year old to 21.. but i was / still am a single mom and i do it 95% on my own and i dont even find mothering very hard.
i guess it really comes down to the person though i dunnno.. but i watch it haha0 -
I watch it and I am 38. I think it sends a very powerful message to teens. Raising a child with or without help from parents or the father of the child is difficult. It is not easy and there are struggles to endure everyday. I also love that they show Caitlyn and Tyler who have such a positive message to share about the choice of adoption. They are very strong people who can help many others along the way.
By the way, I also let my 12 year old son watch it. Everyone may not agree with this, but I think it is never too early to start talking about these issues and it has helped us open up and communicate about alot of issues that we probably wouldn't have talked about.0 -
I watch it and I'm 32...I like the drama, but I use to live in Muncie, IN which is north of Anderson, IN where Teen Mom, Amber is from. I also like the other girls stories too, especially Catelynn's. I was 17 and gave my son up for adoption, so he could have a better life. It's nice seeing other birth moms do the same thing I did.0

I watch it and I'm 30. I'm pretty much addicted to it. I have 2 little girls under 3 and kids in general are tough and I give the ones who really try a lot of credit!0

I let my 16 yr old watch it. Maybe it will keep him from bringing babies home to me to raise. I also love Caitlyn and Tyler. My they are very strong. Caitlyn's mom is just a mean woman. You can tell she has been through alot in life.0 -

Tyler & Caitlyn are my least favorite. Something about them, I don't know.
Gary & Amber are completely crazy. Seriously just break up for good already.. poor Leah. But I agree they do keep the show interesting.
I really like Maci, she seems like the best mother of them all. Her new bf Kyle is pretty ugly but he does seem a lot nicer than her ex [hottie] Ryan.
Farrah got on my nerves the first season and I thought she was a horrible mother. Recently she appears to have stepped up her game and it shows her really taking care of Sophia. Her and her mother both have issues. She does need to respect both of her parents more..0 -
Farrah has the UGLIEST cry face ever.
Maci.... if I have to hear her yell "Beeeeeeeeeentleeeeeeeeeeee" one more time...
Amber... Gary should just land on her.
Catlynn... stop putting things into your face.0 -
I LOVE Teen Mom... Its one of the few shows I really like.... and I'm 30. (I also have a Jersey Shore addiction that I'm not proud of)0

I am addicted to teen mom! And Im 28!0

You are so right....when I was watching the Adoption Reunion last week I was SHOCKED that Tyler cried and Caitlyn didn't. Its almost like she has no emotions. I swear I was crying more then they were. But I guess I just don't understand as I have never chosen adoption. Its hard to speak on it.
Farrah is not a very good mother but again I think it goes back to the way her mother treats her. But I just feel like as much support as her mother gives her...she should show more respect. I didn't have what she had...it was all on me to raise my children.
Exactly about Leah...she is such a cute little china dollface :-) They have NO idea what they are doing to that child. I feel so sorry for her as well. Trash!
Maci...well I can give her credit that she is a great mother and I love that about her. And that she tried with Ryan and it failed miserably but she was smart enough to see it and move on. I loved last episode when Kyle said..do you need me? I need you! Very sweet! :-)0 -
Good to know that other women watch it whether they are younger or older...
I think Maci is the one that has her head together and tries to make the best possible life for her and Bentley. I hope her and Kyle work out because it seems like he really cares....
Amber and Gary need all the help they can get, I just hate seeing that little girl go through all the bickering and arguing.
Catelynn and Tyler are a good couple, I wish them the best.
Farrah tries to be a good mother but her level of respect for her mom is little to none, however her mom probably has the same attitude bc where else did Farrah get it from.
Those are just some of my thoughts on the show....lets see what happens tonight :flowerforyou:0 -

Agreed! 。✿゚‘゚0 -
I watch it sometimes. I know a 16 year old who watches it and is still trying to get pregnant. I was pregnant through the first season of 16 & pregnant. I'm 20 now but was 17, a senior in high school, when I had my son. It is very hard being a teen mom but I chose to grow up and take responsibility for what i got *myself* into.I will say though, I could not have gotten where I am today without the help of my family and my husband.
My husband and I are both full-time college students, raising our son, living in a small apartment just barely getting by but I can honestly say we are very very happy with life. Recently, my mom kept our son for 4 days so my husband and I could have a break for our anniversary and my husband came up to me and said "This is what our life would be like without Desmond......It feels so empty." Aww
Maci...By far my favorite :-)
Amber...She's nuts.
Caitlyn...I think she is very strong for choosing adoption.
Farrah...She has no respect for her mother at all but I'm sure there is quite a story there. I also feel really bad for Farrah having to go through the death of Sophia's father while she was pregnant.0 -
Those girls aren't really like that as mothers - they get paid $60,000 odd per season.
I knew girls in talks with a UK version and the producers asked them to make everything seem exaggerated, for effect.0 -
I watched the first season with my daughter. I am 37, and I got pregnant with her at 18, right at the age she is now. So we watched it together so I could comment on how realistic some things were, and how unrealistic other things were. It started off some great conversations.
Honestly, I dont' think it truly portrays much of what single teen mom's deal with. In some ways yes, but the big picture? No way.0 -
I'm 25..and I watch..sometimes I get disappointed by how some of the girls act..like Amber....but I am an avid watcher...0
-
Yep I'm 31 and I watch it...since I was a teen mom I can relate. My daughter is almost 16.0
-
26 here and I LOVE Teen Mom!!! I even make my husband watch it with me, he tries to act like he doesn't like it but as soon as its on he comes and sits with me LOL0

Farrah has the WORST cry face, no wonder she tried to be a stone cold bi-tch...I wouldn't want people to see it either! HAHA0 -
im 36 and i watch. I go back and forth with watching this with my daughter. So i decided to let her watch a couple of episodes just to see how she reacted.
Much to my surprise she was commented about how some of the decisions these girls were making were "so dumb". She is 11! It was on things that were important too.
I just hope and pray that she doesnt get pregnant at a young age. I dont want her to have to struggle as i know she will have to. Hell i had her when i was in my mid 20s and my son when i was 30. Its hard to be a parent and these young girls & boys dont see the reality from an hour long tv show.
I am the product of a teen pregnancy. My mom had me when she was 16. We grew up together.
P.S. i dont care what kind of relationship Farrah and her mother have but i can tell you right now, if my child EVER talks to me like that, well lets just say go ahead and call em' cause that aint happenin! I DONT CARE. ITS DISRESPECTFUL and they should have whooped her *kitten* a long time ago and they wouldnt be dealing with that mouth.0
