These were tips on yahoo for a flat belly:
DCBA approach: Diet first, Cardio second, Building muscle third, and Abs exercises last. ****This is the part I really wanted to share, if everyone puts their two cents in I'll have enough change to make a dollar.****
Follow it and you can safely lose one to two pounds a week. Spend 60 minutes a day preparing healthier meals. Spend 20 minutes a day three to five times weekly doing cardio. Spend 15 minutes a day three times a week strength training. Finally, spend 5 minutes a day three times a week doing abs exercises.
Best breakfast: A slice of whole-wheat bread with natural peanut butter and 1 cup of your favorite berries.
Best lunch: Spinach salad with sliced avocado, grilled firm tofu, and cherry tomatoes, drizzled with a little olive oil and fresh lemon juice.
Best dinner: Grilled salmon, a roasted sweet potato, and sautéed asparagus with olive oil and garlic.
Best snack: A cup of fat-free yogurt with 2 tablespoons sunflower seeds.

Abs are made in the kitchen. The rest of the tips for a flat belly (allegedly) are fine, but not sure you can rock that same diet plan for a few weeks or months.0

I don't think it's a diet plan. Just an example. You can be thin and stil not have nice toned ab muscles. So abs aren't only made in the kitchen...you can just see them better there.0

Yeah I personally don't think 20 minutes a day 3-5 days a week of cardio is near enough. At least the first 5 minutes is a warm up and last 5 minutes a cool down so that leaves you with 10 minutes cardio. I think aiming more towards 45-60 minutes a day is more like it. Also, 15 minutes of strength training isn't very much at all.
This may work a little bit for someone just starting out that doesn't have any background in exercise, but anyone that has been exercising at all will need more than this.

I think everyone is different as far as their needs. Me personally, I do 2-3 days per week of cardio, and 2 of those days are only 10-20 min. Mind you, they are HIIT or Tabatas, but never the less. Strength training is typically 2-3 days, 2 of those days are roughly 15-20 min, while the third is a longer, 45 min train with a lil cardio mixed in. Abs are in almost every day in some form or another, and I one use resistance weights one day per week, the rest of body weight. I have never had stronger, more developed muscles ever....and I eat relatively clean, which helps. My one longer day of cardio is really on 30 min. or so. Plus, I walk every day to and from work, and the dog, which adds up to roughly 80-90 min of additional exercise.0

HIIT is a great way to maximize your time during cardio. Also, with the strength training are you resting between sets or doing supersets? That helps a lot because it keeps your heart rate up AND you're also, once again, maximizing your time. There are a lot of factors like that that come into play. Also amount of weight used is important. You do a LOT of extra walking everyday so it sounds like you are getting in quite a bit of exercise, which is great.0
