Question about coffee

I drink a half a cup of coffee every morning with some non-dairy creamer in it. I figured out how to add the calories, etc for the creamer to my food intake every day, but I cant find any nutritional information for my coffee?? I drink the classic roast (Beaumont brand from Aldi) and even on the coffee can itself there is NO info, not even a list of ingredients. Why is that? Is there no nutritional info for coffee?

Ok there is a listing in the database for coffee, brewed from grounds. Do I just use that? My brand isnt in there and I cant add it because there isnt any info on the can to go by...

yeppers I use that one. I also have been weaning myself from the creamer-as it has no nutritional value. I add 1 oz of milk, and 2tlbs creamer. when i started this journey I put the ususal amount in the bottom of the empty cup....then measured it! 6 tablespoons :noway: and no nutrients. At least I get some vitamins and calcium from the milk.

10 pounds!!!!!!!Your doing great :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
  • okay it took a little searching but I did find out some info on your coffee. Believe it or not there isn't any calories on coffee unless you drink the specilty coffee's. When you add in sugar or the flavors or the creamers then that is where you get the calories. On any reg. coffee(not specilty coffee)(like from starbucks ect..) there is no nutritional facts because it is rated so low that the manufaturer does not have to put it on there.

For me I add 16 calories per cup that I drink because I add a 1/2 teaspoon of sugar to mine

    Thanks AWTY!:flowerforyou:

Wow, thank you so much animal for finding that for me...I searched and searched and came up with zilch!:ohwell: I dont drink any specialty coffees or add any flavored creamers so I guess on that Im good. Plus, I NEVER drink more than a half a cup and its more only form of caffeine for the day:smile: Caffeine isnt good when your trying to lose weight, right?

Yeah it does sound that way:laugh: but the bad part is Ive already had it! I think its my body adjusting to only a half cup of coffee for its daily intake of caffeine as opposed to the coffee PLUS about 5 cans of diet pepsi (NOT caffeine free) that I used to drink every day! Now, I havent had a diet pepsi in over a month...just water all day...and it was surprisingly easy for me! Two months ago if anyone would have suggested I go 1 day without my diet pepsi I think I would have went into withdrawals just thinking about it!

I think it's ok in moderation, just like everything! If it makes you jittery (which probably 1/2 cup isn't going to!) or makes you hungrier, maybe it's not good ... but I usually have at least 2 big cups of tea every morning for my caffeine fix. I end up with a cup of 1% milk between the two cups, so I just count those calories.

You're doing great, Roni! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

actually, brewed coffee contains a little calories, but I mean a little. 16oz of brewed coffee is about 5 calories. There is nothing wrong with coffee, it's the sugar and creamer that gets loaded into it that costs us some calories. but really, I drink 16oz with half & half and raw sugar and it comes out to 59 calories and I am more than willing to make room in my calorie allowance for that!
