I am trying to find out how many calories are in grapes... I know it changes depending on the serving size... but this is ridiculous, I typed in green seedless grapes and got everything from 17 to 110 Calories I MEAN COME ON!!! so if any of you buy green seedless grapes at Walmart and could give me a rough estimate how many calories would be in... oh lets just say a cup I would be greatly please. Thanks in advance!!! *Kate*

There's a lot of items listed with calorie numbers that are all over the place. I usually do an internet search for the item then go back & choose the one with the same or similar numbers.

probably the serving sizes in what you were looking at was different. there's 110 cals in one cup of grapes, 3 cals in one. remember, grapes are really high in sugar so limit your intake of them.

But they're also really high in delciousness, so eat a few extra.

Check and see if your local grocer is online. I shop at Hannaford brothers and they provide nutritional information for most products including produce.

I prefer to weigh things like grapes. Really, how many grapes are in a cup? So that they all fit perfectly within the cup? So that they all STAY withing the cup without falling out? There's all of that empty space and the bigger the grapes, the more empty space there'll be!
  • Here is the nutrition information on a cup of grapes from the USDA Food and Nutrition Information Center
    http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/cgi-bin/list_nut_edit.pl

The line showing "energy - kcal" is the calorie number.

The USDA FNIC is a great source for nutrition information on fruits, veggies, etc.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone!!! that helped alot and I did do the internet search and found that a cup is roughly 100 calories. I agree with the "how many grapes are in a cup?" theory but I do not have a food scale... YET, I just started this diet thing so I am slowly figuring out things that will deff come in handy lol. Thanks again!!! *Kate*
