HRMs

I bought a HRM a few months ago. It is a Sportsline watch.
I noticed someone posted about being able to enter their age and weight into their HRM the other day. Mine doesn't let me do that. I thought it was odd that it wouldn't let me enter my information when I first got it, but I have been relying on it since I started using it for my exercise calories.
Am I getting an accurate reading?
