For women... running?!?!

I've been an avid runner for about 2 years now. Sometimes I get extremely painful lower, lower abdominal pains. It's not the actual abdominal muscle, it's the area where your ovaries/uterus would be located. Tonight while I was running, I experienced these pains again and it got so painful I actually had to stop.
They don't seem to be increasing in pain each day. It just comes and goes. Could it be because my time of the month is soon??
I just need suggestions. I've never heard anyone complain of this before. Thanks!

Could you be ovulating??? Sometimes I can really feel it... and it's painful! If it continues you may want to consult your Dr... may be nothing, but I wouldn't put off something that causes pain.0

I would see your Gyno, but it may be nothing and it may be benign cysts giving you probelms. Either way they could help you pinpoint the cause and find a solution.0

I have gotten pains like this in the last couple of years, not necessarily related to running though. I honestly think that it is when the egg is going from the ovary into the fallopian tube...I probably sound like a nutcase, but visually that's where it seems to be to me. It can be pretty painful, but it doesn't stick around very long. I would check with a doctor if it is consistent though.0

This happened to me after DD1 was born and I was on the low-dose of the pill and wwas having cysts grow and rupture. After a few of these ruptures, I switched to the high dose of the pill and haven't had a problem since then.
good luck!0
