I have lost many inches in my waist, hips, thighs ect. but not one single tic on the calves....I did have heel surgery in Feb. but I am jogging, biking and doing insanity...does anyone have any ideas how to shrink my calves????

thanks in advance....

should have added, no step work..like ankle drops and can not do single leg ankle rises...and jumping is a very tricky manuever...have to be careful with plyometrics

I'm very much interested in this....I have what my sister calls "man legs".....but since I've started working out, they've went from being big and flabby to big and extremely muscular...which wouldn't be that bad, except they aren't any smaller....just stronger

I have always been super conscious about my calves because I think they are really fat, so I have noticed that jumping is really helpful...like side to side, up and down, front and back, jump roping, etc. Also doing squats but on your toes instead of your heals is helpful. I'm not sure how you can handle that having had surgery, but if it doesn't hurt, that is what helped me.

I have always had really muscular legs and dance for 16 years gave me humungous calves. I was really frustrated not being able to fit any boots that go above your ankle in the winter and my friend suggested swimming. I have lost 2.5 inches from my calves (just leaned out the muscle not losing fat) and notice a much leaner appearance in general in my legs. Good luck!

For the past 10 months I was losing every where but my gorgeous solid calves that can kick start a boeing airplane!!

This month I lost 2 cm's!! Why all of a sudden - my trainer recons it was just time......

Over the past 6 weeks I have started doing more walking / running - not sure if that has made some difference as well...

bicycle riding. it's low impact and builds strong calves and thighs if you use the higher gears.

dance central and walking barefoot helped me with some tone, but I think the only thing that will really make them smaller is losing pounds. I have naturally big calves and when I'm thin they are just musclular and biggish but when I am heavy they are EXTRA big - they don't even LOOK that fat but there must be a lot of fat woven in between the muscles or something. I'd say once you hit goal you can see where it stands.
