Hi Friends, I'm relatively new to myfitnesspal. I've set myself a goal to lose around 45lbs. It's been three months and ive lost around 24. I'm keen to find out which fruits are good in terms of fighting FAT?
Any suggestions.

Fruit actually has sugar and will help you store fat, not cut it. Focus on veggies.
However, I don't know if there's any credence to the concept of "fat-cutting" foods.0 -
I had just finished eating a peach when I read your post! First of all, try to always eat fresh fruit...not dried or canned. My experience is that peaches are a great fat fighting/weight loss snack. Melons (watermelons are my favorite) and berries like strawberries and blueberries (which I eat for their antioxidant properties as well as their fat fighting properties) are also favorites. Grapefruit is of course a fat fighter we've known about for years!0

Cucumber is a good one....the body uses more calories to digest it than there is in the cucumber, apparently. Good luck!!0

Apples, however they do have sugar in them too. but natural sugar from fruit is a lot healthier than the stuff in sweets.
Number one, each apple is high in fiber. They have about 5 grams of fiber each. This helps to fill you up before meals or in between meals. Eating 3 apples a day will get you to 15 grams of fiber. That's half the amount you should have in a day. Most unhealthy people are lucky to get 10 grams of fiber a day. A high fiber intake is key to weight loss.
Number two, you are crowding out bad calories and foods from your meals and snacks. If you eat an apple before each meal, you're likely to not eat as much of that meal. The apple crowds out the bad calories with good calories... and less calories. This allows you to eat your favorite foods without starving.
Number three, the fiber in the apples helps improve the efficiency in your digestive tract. Your system will basically clear out all the foods you eat quicker, while retaining more of their useful nutrients. So you get the left over bad stuff from these foods out of your body faster so they don't have a chance to rot and ferment in your intestines which leads to many problems.
So if you're up for losing weight the boring way, you can expect to lose 2 or more pounds of fat within a month if you eat just 3 apples a day. You don't need to do anything more than that. No other changes are required from you. Try it and prove it to yourself.
Hope this helps.0 -
I also should note fruit has a low energy density and has water. It helps you feel fuller thus the weight loss. The fruit itself does not cut calories but does help in keeping you feeling satisfied/full. You should eat it in moderation and you should still follow a good exercise and healthy meal program. I have heard grapefruit has negative calories....but not sure if this is true!0

Thanks for the input Guys, There are fruits i would try to keep in my meal such as Grapefruit, Apple etc., being aware of the fact that they have sugar, so have to be taken to satisfy the Calorie Goal and not to exceed it.0

i agree with everything said...
but try celery...
its low in cals... and the chewing and digesting uses more cals than is in the celery... =]0
