Redwood forest
OK, I am thinking of taking my children across country to see these giants, does anyone one from this site have any advice? which is the best way to get there and where to stay and when is the best time of year to go?
any insight would be helpful.

I went about 3 years ago in August. It was absolutely amazing!! We flew to San Francisco and rented a car for a week & drove all over. We stayed in a cottage in Monterey & Carmel. The tree's are incredible! Your kids will love it!!
We actually drove through the center of one of the trees! It was a little chilly because of the wind, so bring a light jacket!0 -
Avenue of the Giants about 4 hours north of san fran is the spot to see. It's a lot of driving but there are things to see along the way. Was there in july/august and weather was excellent.0
