(I've tried posting a pic with little success so you'll just have to look at my profile pic in reference to this post)

I just wanted to give a word of encouragement to everyone fighting to lose those last few lbs. For months I was 'stuck', the scale wouldn't move and it was very disheartening but then I decided to change my focus. I started strength training properly (New Rules of Lifting for Women) and my goal was to decrease body fat and lose inches.

My body has changed and even though I\m not there yet I am smaller.

My profile pic shows my before and where I am now and the strange thing is my weight is the same in both pics   Before I was a size 12 (US 8) and now I'm a 10 (US 6)

So, please don't obsess with the scales, they are only one measure of progress.

I hope that this will help someone out there. Have a blessed day

This is so true and you have done exceptionally well. The profile picture says it all and seeing as I know that was a couple of weeks ago now - I bet there is even more change!

Sunshine - you are an inspiration.

    Thank you :flowerforyou:

You're fab - you are such a wonderful MFP friend. So grateful to have you on my newsfeed. Hope you're having a wonderful day
  • That is so amazing and well done on working so hard for your incredible body! Thanks for those words or encouragement - it just proves that no matter what, if you are working hard something is changing. I will definitely start focusing more on measurements and visable results than on my scale.

I couldn't agree more. For a good while I have been at or very near goal weight and I did the 30 day shred, and though I lost no weight from it I lost 5.5" from my total body and feel great!

This is great! Very inspiring. Sometimes it's so easy to be focused on a number on the scale and totally forget about all the other measures of progress there are.

    Great work!
