Invited out for an impromptu dinner - what to do?

I don't refuse all invitations to eat out but I do plan ahead so I have enough calories.

OH and I have been offered tickets tonight to a show, 3 course dinner is included. Tickets are cheap as it is so last minute, show looks good and food looks amazing! Problem is it's a set menu so there is not much wriggle room. OH can have my starter and most of my dessert though LOL!

I wont have time for a work out and I know I will be way over my calories (I have been so bad already this week)

Should I just turn down the ticket?

No way it's not about putting your life on hold just enjoy and get back on it tomorrow- it looks like your so close to your goal, one three course meal won't make you put weight on! Like you said just get your hubby to eat most of it :)

If you want to go... GO! Just becuse dinner is included doesn't mean you HAVE to eat it. You could eat before you go. Or, you could only eat the parts that are "ok". Maybe you could ask for 1/2 a portion?

We have to live. Going out is a part of life.

I would absolutely go! Enjoy the parts of the dinner that you really want, and either leave or give the rest to your OH. I was invited out at the last minute for curry the other day, and I just went for it and enjoyed it. Got back on the wagon the next day and no harm done. I'm trying to make this a new lifestyle, not a diet, so it tends to sabotage me if I deny myself opportunities to do fun things based entirely on what food is being served. :-)

You should totally go! Maybe divide the portions in half, eat that first and if you are still hungry, eat the rest. Have a great time!

GO! Enjoy the night, enjoy dinner and enjoy LIFE! This is a lifestyle change not a death sentence to fun, food and good times!
You can make up for it tomorrow or spread it out over the next two days or so.
    Have fun!

No way!!! Relax, a spike day calorie-wise can give your metabolism a boost anyways!!! Eat up and enjoy your meal, and then log the damage and forget about it. A treat now and then is a MUST DO xx

Thanks guys - I am going and I will have a fab time!

One impormptu night out wont undo 6 months hard work (gosh I can't believe it's been 6 months already!)

You must go! You have absolutely made the right choice. No point in loosing weight and looking amazing if you don't go out and show it off. Get dressed up, eat a delicious meal, but don't go overboard and have a fantastic evening :) After 6 months hard work you deserve it. X
