    Amen!
    I run, hike & do outdoor activities with the full intention of doing them well into when I'm "old". And I'm getting closer to "old" every day.

    As one of the "older than 50" crowd, I think a lot of times people really mean "I'm too out of shape for ..." when they say "I'm too old for ...". And to some extent that may be true. A person over 50 who has led a sedentary life for decades may never be able to keep up with someone the same age who has stayed active. They may have bone loss or other ailments that just make some high impact activities dangerous. But that doesn't mean they can't exercise and get in shape, it just means they need to know their limitations and be patient while they build up their strength and stamina. And if they truly are "old" beginners they would be wise to work with their physician when beginning an exercise program.
