How does everyone compute body fat percentage? A couple of my friends have scales that tell them...but my scale isn't that fancy. I know there are websites that you can plug measurements into..but are they really that accurate?

My trainer says that the caliper tests are the most accurate, you can apparently buy calipers for like $5 online. The online measurement my weight, height, and various circumferences are *kitten*. They generally measure me at about 20% because I'm 5'3" and 126 pounds, but according to my trainer I'm 13%.

you are probably around 18%, a woman at 13% is what you see in bodybuilding (~10%) and women carry 5-8% more bf than men do, don't get me wrong you look great!. Calipers are only as a accurate as the person using them, so I can measure you and get ten and someone that is good and knows how to use them may get 15%. I am currently at 14% trying to get down to 12% but the damn love handles!

i hate to say it, most online calculators are wrong. according to them im either 9% or 30% depending on which i use. I broke down and got a taylor brand scale for $30. It is within a fraction of what the dr. Measured. Dont get me wrong, 9 would be awesome but i wanted accurate, not awesome
  • I tried a couple different ones and it puts me 12-18% body fat...I'm very thin and "underweight" according to BMI, so it may be about right??

    Eh, whatever.
