“Don't rely on someone else for your happiness and self worth. Only you can be responsible for that. If you can't love and respect yourself - no one else will be able to make that happen. Accept who you are - completely; the good and the bad - and make changes as YOU see fit - not because you think someone else wants you to be different.”0

If we all did the things we are capable of,

More of a prayer than a quote, but it is one of my favorite especially if you consider that how you look and feel are entirely in your control.
"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference"..

"You don't have to run faster than the bear...you just have to run faster than the guy behind you."

This is one I've always found very powerful....and one I've always cherished
People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person.
When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support,
to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time,
this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done.
This one touched me deeply today. Good words for anyone who has lost someone dear.

Do all things with Love0

Change has a considerable psychological impact on the human mind.
To the fearful it is threatening because it means that things may get worse.
To the hopeful it is encouraging because things may get better.
To the confident it is inspiring because the challenge exists to make things better.
WOW..this one is so awesome....so powerful... I love it!!:drinker:0 -

Now is Your Moment
+++++++++++++++++++
It is now, and now is different. Even though you may have
experienced an overwhelming amount of disappointment in the
past, the past is over.
Perhaps you've failed again and again. Now is different.
That was then and this is now. Now you have the opportunity
to move forward.
Now you can do what you've never been able to do before. Now
you can follow through on the things you've been unable or
unwilling to do in the past.
Now is your moment to live. Now is the time to act.
Now is when you can truly make a difference. Stand up, step
forward and live.
~Ralph Marston0 -
"We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives.not looking for flaws, but for potential."
Ellen Goodman0 -
From Dear Abby...
JUST FOR TODAY, I will be happy. I will not dwell on thoughts that depress me. If my mind fills with clouds, I will chase them away and fill it with sunshine.
JUST FOR TODAY, I will accept what is. I will face reality. I will correct those things that I can correct and accept those I cannot.
JUST FOR TODAY, I will improve my mind. I will read something that requires effort, thought and concentration. I will not be a mental loafer.
JUST FOR TODAY, I will make a conscious effort to be agreeable. I will be kind and courteous to those who cross my path, and I'll not speak ill of others. I'll improve my appearance, speak softly, and not interrupt when someone else is talking. Just for today, I'll refrain from improving anybody but myself.
JUST FOR TODAY, I will do something positive to improve my health. If I'm a smoker, I'll quit. If I'm overweight, I'll eat healthily -- if only just for today. And not only that, I'll get off the couch and take a brisk walk, even if it's only around the block.
JUST FOR TODAY, I will gather the courage to do what is right and take responsibility for my own actions.0 -
For last year's words belong to last year's language;
And next year's words await another voice.
And to make an end is to make a beginning.
