Terrible, terrible run. Feeling depressed.

I'm training for my first 5k in October. Today had the most disasterous run since I started. I've been sort of following the C25K, and was at the point where I can run the distance on a treadmill with no breaks, but a couple of breaks when doing it outside. Was feeling quite good about it, but then I had to take some time off with an injury, and the last few times haven't been quite so good.
But today, I could barely run for 1/8 of the 5k without stopping, and I had to stop so many times. Had stomach cramps, really sore shoulder, shin splints, and general inability to breathe. Barely finished it. I've been doing this a few months now, and just don't feel like I'm improving at all
Guess I need to be told to stop feeling sorry for myself, that I've plenty of time, and that a 30min 5k isn't something to be upset about. Though if anyone has any advice, please feel free to share xx

I've been running 15 years and never done a sub-30 minute 5K!
As yanicka said, bad runs happen. Go back a week or two on C25K and repeat from there. And take it SLOWLY so you're barely going over walk speed.
Here are my beginner's running tips, some of these may help:

I had an awful run Tuesday morning, I was SO frustrated! I am in good shape, could probably run a 10k no problem, but one lousy mile into my run on Tuesday and I wanted to stop and sit on the curb and cry. It was awful. I took yesterday off, ddn't do my cross training, and went out again this morning and felt great. Tuesday was just a bad run day for me I guess. Don't let it get you down! Also, I know that my running depends on my eating. So, knowing I had a workout this morning I made sure to eat a healthy dinner last night and get in a late night snack (I can't eat before I workout in the morning, it makes me feel sick) and an extra glass of water before bed. So, brush yourself off and get back at it on your next run day!0

Perhaps if you're managing a 30 min 5K including walking breaks, you may be running too fast when you DO run. As BerryH says, take it more slowly.0
