My pop (soda) doesn't taste the same anymore?

When I made the decision to start losing weight I decided that I needed to start drinking my daily water intake before any other beverage. It was hard to get used to at first because I used to do good to get 30-40 oz of anything daily let alone water. Last week I had all of my water and had decided to drink some coke with my dinner since I had some extra calories. It did not taste like the same wonderfully refreshing beverage that I remembered at all! In fact since then I have taken some sips of pop if I'm out with my fiance or something but I don't even care if I have anything other than water anymore. I just can't believe the difference that making a few changes in my life has made. I thought it would be torture not drinking coke (I used to drink it anytime I ate anything.) I know that this is a very small achievement but it makes me think: What else can I accomplish if I just try?

I totally know what you mean! The first time I tried to drink a Mt. Dew after not having one for weeks, it tasted so syrupy and sugary and GROSS! I had to dump part of it out! It's wonderful how our tastes change when we start feeding our body more healthily
Good on ya, girl!0 -
I'm the same way now. I never used to drink water and now that all I want to drink. Yay!0

I've had similar experience. Can't drink that glorified rat poison anymore. And I'm glad!!!
Once your body gets used to the GOOD stuff there's no going back0 -

I wish that would happen to me! I've given up pop several times in my life and always find my way back to it. The hardest is during the summer when it's so warm out and all I want is a cup full of ice and Coke. Luckily, I'm thankful that it's still cool here in the NW and I'm not having that problem so far.0

So very true. Soda doesn't have the same excellent taste it used to. Chocolate isn't as appetizing as it used to be either. Nor is anything really greasy or really salty. All these things make me feel so blah and tired nowadays if I try them. Its interesting to see the body transform and adjust to different levels of intake of different foods. I guarantee a large order of french fries or a 44oz soda would make me feel like throwing up now. Hey, this is a good thing!!!0

I 100% agree. I have not had soda in weeks, and even the thought of it makes me feel sick. Can't even be around fried, greesy food anymore...0
