Low carb for 2 weeks, now wanting to add some back in

I did a low carb diet for two weeks....no bread, cereal, crackers and I mostly ate meat, cheese, vegetables, and eggs.
Now I am wanting to add some good carbs back. I miss having cereal for breakfast. I haven't really lost any weight over the past two weeks, but mostly maintained. Any advice for adding carbs back in without gaining weight?
Also, i have not tracked them on here because I haven't been keeping up with calories because of the low carb.
Thanks!

This is my biggest beef with the low-carb diet. There is no concept of portion control, calories do not exist, only carbs. This works as long as you are in Ketosis, but once out of Ketosis, those calories count in a BIG way. That's why so many people lose weight on an Atkins type diet, then gain those pounds back, plus another 5-20+. They are simply used to eating as much as they want. I know, been there and done it numerous times, 20-45 lbs each time. It's almost an impossible diet to maintain forever. It takes very few carbs to knock you out of Ketosis, and several days to re-enter Ketosis. Meanwhile, every fatty calorie is counting.
This is why myfitnesspal works so well. Eat whatever you want, but use portion control and budget your calories. Big pizza dinner means smaller breakfast and lunch. At the end of the day, it's the calories that got us where we are.

I don't really know what kind of diet you were doing. I can only tell you that Atkins recommends adding them back slowly. My suggestion is to add them back in slowly, maybe 10 net carbs a week, and only add back carbs from nuts or berries, or higher carb veggies. I would not go straight to the cereals, grains or breads right away.
I use MFP to track carbs, but I also note my calories, and I can tell you that I rarely go over 1600 calories a day. It's usually around the 1400-1500 mark.0 -
Why did you not track your calories?0
