Only 15 pounds away from 200!?!?!

So I went to the doctor and despite everything I gained weight and am only 15 pounds from 200 pounds!!! I wasn't upset but more confused. I've had numerous people telling me that I look like I've lost weight, my clothes are feeling better but still that number creeps upward.
I understand that muscle weighs more than fat but I thought the scale would show some improvement. I guess I'm more perplexed than anything. I still feel good and don't feel like downing a red velvet chocolat cupcake (or three) but just wondered what some of you thought.
BTW, here is a before and after of me and a current shot.
The first is from December and the After is from March
This is from today

Muscle weighs the same as fat pound for pound, but takes up less space in your body. Do you take your measurements? You are probably losing more inches than weight. This is what is happening to me right now...I've lost about 8 inches in the last 5 weeks but only 2 lbs.0

Just about to comment on the same thing. :P Yes, people need to stop saying "muscle weights more than fat"...0 -
Don't get discouraged. from the two pics you posted, I can see a difference. you look more trim, and toned, specially in the face. BTW. muscle doesn't actually weigh more than fat. 1 pound of fat, weighs the same as a pound of muscle. it's just that muscle is more dense/tightly packed, so the volume of the two are significantly different than one another.
but anyway. you do slimmer, and more toned0 -
I guess the more accurate thing to say is that by volume muscle is more dense than fat. Thanks all.0

In my personal opinion, ive realised that sometimes you cant solely listen to the scale. I would wake up in the morning, and FEEL/SEE a difference. I noticed that when i would sit down, there wasnt as big of a stomach bulge than what i usually would have, my pants seemed to fit a bit better, etc. Then when i started feeling all bloated and such, i ended up still being the same weight as when i felt the difference. So to me, being 15lbs away from 200 isnt that bad, from seeing the photos, you can see a difference! Youve slimmed down quite a bit! I think your doing great, keep it up!0
