Hey yal. Before you read too far, I just am going to put out there that I am a self-conscience teen who lied about her age to be on here and technically doesn't need to lose weight.
But, I want to lose the fat around my stomach because my waist is 32 inches, which to me seems excessive. (I'll put pictures in my profile as soon as my desktop computer is working again.)
I lost 5 pounds before June, but put it all back on in 10 days because I spent them at UIC and ate dorm food all the time and ate over excessively.
It's been 2 weeks and I have seen minimal change and am having a hard time trying to eat under my calorie goal. I am not motivated to exercise or eat healthy. I just need motivation. Please help me.

When I was in high school, I had a teacher who would periodically talk about high schoolers' perceived need to lose weight, and the quote from him that I remember the most is "it's not about being thin, it's about being fit, and thin doesn't always mean fit." In other words, if you're active (and marching band is active, I've been in it, too, and know what it can be like), then you shouldn't worry too much about whether or not you're "thin."
That said, without knowing knowing things like your height and what you eat, I can't really say whether you're within your weight range or whether a 32" waist is big or small. Judging from your weight, I'd venture to guess you're between 5'4" and 5'6". If you're on the taller end of that, a 32" waist isn't that bad.
Also, there's a difference between "fat" and "flab," especially in the stomach region. If it's "flab," then you'd probably do well with core work. See if someone in your area offers Yoga, Pilates, or Bellydance. All three are great for working the core, as well as offering a great overall workout (Yoga will most often be less cardio, but that will depend on the style; some styles are more intense than others), and are just plain fun.0 -
Thank you so much. I greatly appreciate your response. I will look for some core work, and hope it works. Again, thank you for not blowing me off as an anorexic teen girl0
