Today is take out night (yay take out night) and I am getting the tukey tom sandwhich from Jimmy Johns. They use that really yummy (but oh so fatty) hellmans mayo but without it the sandwhich is only 300 some calories which is great. I actually do have enough calories for the whole thing, but getting it with the mayo would take me over on fat by like 26 grams.

Getting it with nothing on it is yucky and while I usually love light miracle whip on stuff, I've tried it on that but it doesn't taste the same. Does anyone know if Jimmy Johns has light mayo? I know some restaurants will give you the little packets of light mayo, does anyone knows where you can buy these? I've checked sams club but I cannot find them.

They have a really great dijon mustard at Jimmy John's that you could try. Or just ask them for very easy mayo and they won't put very much on. I know they have mayo packets there, and probably light mayo if you ask them.

I also love Jimmy John's, but yeah, the mayo has tons of calories. What I do is get them to spread avocado on it instead. Sure, it adds calories, too, but 1.) not nearly as many, and 2.) it's very tasty!

I often ask when I go to sandwich places to go lite on the dill and mayo and they do.....sometimes you can't see it. tee hee...but hey, they listen so that's what counts:flowerforyou:

Might give it a try...then check your sandwich and see the results....if it's more than you want on it....you can always scrape it off.

    Enjoy your take out night!:drinker:

Awesome idea! Glad you shared that with us:happy: though I've never eaten at a Jimmy Johns they do have them all over the city now....might have to take a look. Do they have a number of healthier choices to chose from?:drinker:

ooh I just checked the calories for the dijon, its only like 20. That's soooo much better than the mayo.

Wow thanks, I would never have known about that, maybe I'll give it a try. And it only adds like 20 calories!
  • Yeah, they don't have light mayo because I've asked before. You'll just have to ask for "easy mayo." Or try the mustard like others have said.. It's so sad how that mayo makes the sandwich soooo yummy!

You're welcome! In general, it's not that their food is not nutritious (it's not fried or anything); it's just that the portions are kind of large, so the calorie counts tend to be high. The Vegetarian sub is my favorite, but with mayo it's calorie count is horrendous and without it's ok. :-) Here's a link to their nutritional information:

(I haven't posted on here in MONTHS; it's good to be back!) By the way - WOW, good for you on your amazing achievement! Keep up the amazing work!
