A change in cheat days....

So the other day is what i like to think of as my favorite day of the week, my "cheat" day. Not long ago, this day would have consisted of chips, cookies, cakes and candy of any type. This time my cheat day consisted of a bagel with all natural peanut butter, lots of watermelon, some corn, a diet pop and half a hamburger ( as i was too full to finish the entire thing!). When I look at what i ate, this day would have been considered healthy for me before my weight loss journey began.

So I guess I'm just wondering, has anyone else noticed this? That even when they try to eat bad it just isn't as bad as it used to be ?

Definitely! As we transition to eating healthier in general, our bodies get used to the good stuff. And WANT it!

Same here. My friend is coming to visit this weekend so I know there will be eating out. I am already stressing about unhealthy food. I like what I am eating currently! I have already informed him that we WILL be running Saturday afternoon :)

That is fantastic!!! I too find I don't crave my old favorites like I used to... we are talking soda, chips, ice cream, sugary cereal, salty snacks, greasy fries or burgers, donuts, etc.

A lot of that stuff just isn't as appetizing as a big bowl of fresh fruit like cantaloupe or some carrot sticks is now. In fact, a lot of that stuff disgusts me to think about now. My body would hate me for it and I know it. Your body adjusts to not digesting or craving or wanting that stuff anymore. Its really rather interesting on both physical and mental levels.

I couldn't agree more! Sometimes I have to force myself to eat bad food, and after I eat it my body is automatically calculating the calories and fat content of that piece of food. Its a lot more tiring for me to eat something bad then it is to eat something good, that's for sure!
