I did something stupid...

I taught myself how to make pie... Now I can't stop!

As soon as one pie is gone I've started on another...

Luckily my mom also loves pie, so I'm not eating it all by myself... But still. I ate like, 732 calories worth of pie today. ^^;

If only mom would stop breing me rhubarb from the garden. Everything would be alright then, I can't get it myself cause of my near crippling fear of slugs and bugs...

Um, yeah. That's all I had to say...

Of course you can stop. Unless someone has a gun to your head. DOES someone have a gun to head??? I thought not. If you want to stop making and eating pie. Then STOP IT!!!

You can always can the rubarb pie filling for later use.

I love to cook--its a huge stress reliever for me. Actually, I should say, my initial love was for baking. I had to channel my love for making sweet treats, into learning how to make savory things, and expand my knowledge of healthy food and how to cook it. I can't tell you how much easier my journey got when I started branching out and making things that were good for me. Chickpea burgers with avocado watercress dressing...yum...sweet potato and carrot mash with raisins, delish!

It's not saying that I don't still indulge in my love of baking--I've just tried to bake different things with higher quality ingredients. Also, if you feel the need to bake but don't want all the leftovers, bake, and take a cookie or two for yourself, and then take the rest to your grandparents, or someone else who may be home bound. I know the relationship with my grandparents got even stronger when I'd take them some of my goodies. It sounds cheesy, but it's worked so far for me. There's no reason to squash your love of baking--just use better ingredients, and give some away :)

Is there a cute boy next door who likes pie? GIVE IT AWAY! lol

Or better yet... learn some new healthier pie recipes or learn to make something all together different.

It seems like you enjoy baking. Maybe you could make it and give it to a family

I like to bake too but in a house like mine with two people, it isn't conducive to have an entire tray of brownies or an entire pie laying around. I always bring whatever I bake to my office. They are like vultures there and will eat anything!

    mmmmmmmm rhubarb <3

how about stew some rhubarb with some sugar, or sweetner if you prefer and then have it with a little low cal spray cream, or half fat custard, or creme fraiche.
You get most of the yummy, while missing out a lot of the calories of the pastry.

I'm a pie maker too! My current obsession-- CHERRY! I found fresh TART cherries in the market the other day! I had just made a fresh SWEET cherry pie two weeks ago! I've never made a fresh tart cherry pie before so, of course, I had to make one. Actually I made eight! I made eight individual cherry pies so I could figure out the exact calorie count on a serving.

I love rhubarb too! Haven't made one of those pies in years... Oh NO!

Thanks for all the support guys. :)

I'll definetly find something else to use all that rhubarb on.

And maybe I'll bake something that'll get me away from my pie-craze but that I'm too lazy to make often, like my gooey chocolate cake! That's way too heavy to eat alot of as well. And I can give away some of it to grandma, and mom will definetly eat at least half. Yeah, If I get the urge to make pie I'll do that in stead...

That's still kind of a bad idea, probably... Curse you sweet-tooth! If you don't stop making me eat sugar you'll fall out!

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a threadmill to use.

Take it from me and my pie baking experience last year. Good, homemade pie is addicting! However, you can still make a couple of pies to freeze each month. Invite friends over for tea, pie, and conversation, but not every week. You get only one slice.

Use organic sugar. It works better on the system than the regular white granulated sugar. To cut calories/sugar, try to use less sugar and more fruit to sweeten the pie.

@paperdoll08: If you know of kids in college, they would appreciate the cookies, too. And, they would disappear like wildfire as soon as word got out in the dorm.

Mmm.. I love pie. Cherry pie is my favourite. I really have to limit myself to a 1/8 piece per day when I have pie in the fridge - through sheer willpower!

<3 Rhubarb pie, yum yum ! You could make it into compote. I sometime make it and add strawberries, it's absolutely delicious.
