Weight Loss Per Week

My starting weight was 135, and I lost the first 5 or so pounds easily and have gone up and down from 128 to 132 for months now. In total I only wanted to lose about 15 pounds and just get in shape. I currently have my MFP setting to the 1 pound per week recommended setting. I am wondering since I only have about 10 pounds to lose should I switch it to 1/2 pound per week loss? Or at what point I should switch to the 1/2 pound per week weight loss. Thanks!

A pound a week is a good setting. If you think that switching to 1/2 pound a week might shake things up, then go ahead and try it. What could it hurt? :) But maybe the goal that you set for yourself is not realistic for your particular body. Our bodies only know a few different ways to speak to us, and by holding onto everything, your body might be saying "Ok, those 5 pounds, we didn't really need those, but the rest of this...we need that." Maybe now it's about holding steady at your current weight and working on strength training.

if i were you, I'd DEFINITELY change it to lose 0.5 per week!

When I had about 10 - 15 lbs to go, I always alternated between 1 lb loss or 0.5 lb loss.. and I just wanted to eat more and knew that losing at a slower pace was better in the long run! So i did, and it was the best thing ever! LOL :) good luck!

    edit:
plus as your body gets closer to it's goal - (as i'm sure you know!) - it's harder to lose. but an increase in calories (slightly) so like changing to less weight loss per week, would do the trick!
