Mind and matter

I know we've all heard the phrase it's "mind over matter" to motivate ourselves. I think it's both. Determination to be healthy will have concrete results. Hard work is necessary (I know), but changing the way we look won't really change the way we think of ourselves. How do I know? Many "healthy" looking people are depressed and distraught. They are unsatisfied with who they are as a person and ripped abs, a sexy waistline, or big pecs won't change that. So what is the ultimate goal we are looking for? I found a quote that says it best.
"Courage, hope, faith, sympathy, love, promote health and prolong life. A contented mind, a cheerful spirit, is health to the body and strength to the soul. "A merry [rejoicing] heart doeth good like a medicine." Proverbs 17:22.""

Remember my friends the importance of having a healthy body, if we would have a healthy, happy mind and vice versa.

I completely agree. I think we can do and achieve anything we can visualize and on that we keep sustained focus. I know through my last year of working on changing my self-image and eating healthier and exercising in ways that have reshaped me, I am learning I MUST love myself first or I will be unhappy and thinner. Thank you for posting your topic! Thank you for the reminder and lesson of we must have healthy, positive thoughts towards ourselves.
