I'm a morning mama:-) I also home school and the boys are involved in a school co-op and have my own photography business...So my day gets busy pretty quickly! If I don't get up and get me done first, I find that I fall off the list LOL0

I started working out in the afternoon, while the kids play or watch TV. Sometimes the baby likes to climb on me while I do any kind of crunches or planks, but other than that, it's mostly been smooth going. Before the workout, I let the kids know I'm going to doing my exercise, that it will take X number of minutes, that there are some snacks in the fridge if they get hungry, and if they need something from me I'd appreciate it if they'd ask before I start or wait until I'm done (unless it's an emergency). It's worked pretty well so far. Every now and then they'll wander through and start doing jumping jacks or squats with me.
I've started doing C25K with two other mama friends, and we meet at the local high school to run on the track, and we bring the kids along. The kids play together in the field inside the track while the moms run -- it's not always easy, since we still have to meet our kids' needs, but it's working out better than I expected and the kids are getting used to it.
This morning, I got to go for a run with one of my friends, and we both left our kiddos home with their dads... that was also nice. :-)0 -
at night.
when i get home from working double shifts and after my kids are in bed.
if i get luck and i only have to work one, then i try to do it right before it's time to cook supper and make the husband watch the kids,0 -
I wake up with the bf at 5:30 and exercise before the kids wake up or if I sleep in I wait until the bf gets home and work out then0

Usually in the morning! It is a family event so I try to get all the kids involved in whatever we are doing. Sometimes Zumba, sometimes walking, and they love kickboxing. You just gotta fit it in when you cAn and get creative. I really love watching my 4 year old son do punches and my 1 year daughter loves to dance to Zumba. Keeps me going! My 8 year old son loves to do the yoga type moves and core work. And my oldest daughter (12) is like my dance coach. It is good!0

We homeschool and my kids are older, so I have different challenges than I did when they were little. Our schedule changes every day, so I fit exercise in whenever I can that particular day. I prefer to run before everyone else gets up in the morning, but can't always do that. If not, we sometimes go to the park in the afternoon and my oldest runs with me while my youngest rides her scooter or bike. On nights when my kids have classes at the Y, I work out there instead. Strength training and yoga I usually do in the morning. And during the warm months we all go to hoop jams once or twice a week. (Basically a bunch of hula hoopers who get together in the park to hoop it up.)0

During the week, I workout in the mornings before my kids wake up. I have a 6yr old and a 13month old.
During the weekends, if I workout, I'll wait until my 13month old is napping or if my husband is home, have him keep an eye on her so I can do my workout.0 -
i work full time so my exercises are based mostly in the evening after ive put my daughter to bed. i go to a zumba class in the evening, and am currently doing the 30ds and run once or twice a week! enough to keep me out of trouble. organisation is the key. i leave hubby to keep an eye on dinner whilst im running or at zumba! lol
if any other mums want to add me please do! could do with more mummy friends!0 -
I work full time and so they have a lot of exercise class at where i work at so I exercise during my lunch and then right after work (Zumba, or another aerobic class) and then in the evening after everything I try to sneak anothe thing in whether it's walk the track near my house , or going to the gym with my family, if i am up to it.I think when football season starts I am gonna have to walk while my son's practice. I am loving the results from my 2 hr ad ay workout.0

The daycare at the gym allows me to work out any time I want. It's great and only 8 $ extra a month.0

After our daughter goes to bed, the husband and I do our weightlifting. Cardio is sometimes done as soon as I get home from work (again together with husband), munchkin being hypnotized by Shaun T. or sometimes after she goes to bed (if she's feeling cranky).0

My kids are 3 and 1.5, and I exercise when I get home from work while DH watches them. I wake up at 5:30am for work, so there's no way to wake up earlier for exercising. And by the kids' bedtime, I am to sleepy to exercise.0

i have 8 kids ranging from 19 years to 4 months. and i find it easier during the week to work out on my wii fit in the afternoon when baby takes her nap. so we can have family time in the evening, and when i do my arerbics on the weekend i do them in the morning so we as a family can do stuff together.0

I have three children that workout with me. They are my motivators! Even when I use weights, my 4 & 6 year olds will use their dolls as weights. So cute! So I usually workout at home. It is easier than finding a sitter and going to a gym. And it is a lot more fun doing it with my children! Now, if I could only get my hubby to join us.0

I've GOTTA do it in the early AM or else it won't happen. This is not so much a complication of mothering but more of a temperment issue that is exacerbated by the current work/school/life schedule. I think even if I had nothing else on my plate, I'd still wake up at 5 to be done by 6:45. It's a great start to the day. I do dream of naps, though. Someday.0

I work out for about 30 minutes in the morning, at home and I work out for about two hours in the evening at the gym.0

I workout every morning with the kids somewhere in the house :0) They are either working out with me (either Chalean Extreme, Turbo Jam or P90X...they prefer Tony) or they will be eating their breakfast at the table and watching me. It took them a couple of weeks but now they tell me on my rest days "mommy.....you need to exercise!" They are 3 & 4 and I'm very proud that they are a part of my workout time.0

I'm a SAHM and my husband paid for my annual membership at 24hr Fitness so I use the KidsClub there. I don't really have an excuse to NOT have the time! I go first thing in the morning after the little one wakes up (sometime between 9 & 10:30am, I know, I know, I'm lucky!) and get in at least 45min-1.5hrs before the KidsClub closes for the afternoon at 1pm. I get all my housekeeping stuff done during the little ones nap hours from 2-6. It's the one thing in my schedule that stays constant! Lol.0

I work out along side of my 2 year old son while he either plays or sometimes joins in. I think it is a great thing to have him growing up seeing this as a normal thing to do each day. Monkey see, monkey do.... I have to say that I have also gotten better results at home then all the time put in at the gym. Your welcome to ask me what my favorite workout programs are and friend me as well for some positive food for thought everyone. Happy rest of the weekend. Colleen (Seattle)0

I have a gym membership that has a kids area, sort of like Monkey Joe's. I'm "Mom of the year" because they get to bounce for an hour 4 days a week. :-)0

After four very active boys. I only have one left in the house and he is a soccer player so i work out with him and my husband. School startes at 7:15 but he gets on the bus at 6 so we run or workout at 5am. during the school year.0

I joined the Y because they have childcare, but I don't get there as much as I'd like. At home I workout while my 2 year old naps in the afternoon. My 3 year old likes to work out with me, we do Zumba and yoga almost every day!
My 2 year old likes to join in too if he's up, but he's usually hanging off me or crawling under me during yoga so that's why I try to wait till he's asleep. But I do agree that I like involving them or letting them see me exercising so they form good habits too!0 -
I go to the gym/spin or a walk when the kids are in bed so I'll head out the door the second they are settled. I get up at 5.30am for work so morning exercise is out.
It's hard to juggle it al but do-able. I exercise 4-5 nights a week.0 -
I run, lol. I either have to do it before my little one wakes up or after she crashes for the night. We do yoga together, hike, play sports, and play with our dogs.0
-
I typically workout after breakfast is done and the kids are occupied doing something else. If I wait to the afternoon I just want to relax.
I'm also not sure how this will work once I'm back in school this fall.0 -
How old is your son? I have a 5 year old, a 3 year old and one thats almost 2...
Ive tried waking up early to workout but then my daughter (the 3 year old) wakes up and wants her show, so there goes that... and if i wait till night when they are in bed by say 8:30, well then thats my relax time and im tired and just want to sit.
So i found it that my almost 2 year old son takes a nap anywhere from 10-12, so lately ive been working out around 9:30-10 while they are all wide awake and playing, they actually come next to me and do it too sometimes, especially the youngest haha its cute...
Anyways, thats been working for me Add me if you'd like too0 -
5am before everyone wakes up!0
