My sweet fiancee got me a ipod touch for valentine's day 2 years ago. Well lately I've been using it for the nike app. It keeps track of how much you walk and calories ect which I love. But I can take it when the battery says its full..but literally it dies within a 1-1 1/2 hrs.. I was looking up replacing the battery and it says they would do it for a service fee..which online is 79.. to me thats crazy.. my is the 8GB and I thnk new it was 199 or something like that.. I hope its not.. Maybe my kids messed with something that is eating the battery hmmm..

Probably the battery. That's a pretty common problem.

one of my mfp friends got a used shuffle for $12.50 on ebay maybe look there? im sure they have other itouchs for not super expensive
  • That really sucks, I'm sorry. If you just turn it off completely and try to leave it charged for a few hours, come back and see if there are any improvements. That might not help anything at all, but it has always worked for me!

Also, since the new iPod Touches are coming out in September, if you want to purchase another one, you can find them for CHEEEEAAAAAPPP. I purchased a 64GB for $240.00 which is the price for a 32GB!

Something similar happened to mine. I just paid the $79 and got a brand new one! So far so good!

Edit: they don't replace the battery, they just give you a whole new ipod. I thought the price was worth it, since I paid about $200 for the first one. Just make sure you back everything up, so when you do get a new one (either from Apple or another avenue) you don't lose all of your data!

Oh ok that is cool! I see you gotta do a battery test on it first..said something about putting music on it..but mine already has music on it..
  • Do you have any apps that have or uses GPS? I heard that the battery drains rather quickly if the GPS is always running even in the background.
