Okay, so I work at a women's shelter. We also have an admin office where meetings take place. Every month they have cake for the people who had birthdays that month. They never eat it all, but it always stays over there for some reason. Well, it didn't this month. There it sits, in the fridge with my spinach salad, hummus, veggies, and tilapia I will eat later. "yoo hoo I'm delicious".
So, my co workers know my lifestyle change that I'm going through right now. They are very supportive! But...sometimes I forget they can eat cake too. I'm kinda jealous. A little. BUT.
I will NOT eat it. I really don't want to. I have self control. I wanted to say something smart *kitten* to my one co worker eating it tonight when he said "o.m.g. this is soooooo good" while I'm in the same room. I'm pretty sure he was rubbing it in. It's okay, because I don't need that cake. It has empty-less calories.
It's times like these I amaze myself at how much crap I use to eat. I probably would have had that plus a my dew, and a 1000 calorie 5 dollar drink from starbucks, probably taco bell, and some of the chocolate sitting on the table in the other room.
But guess what, I didn't do any of that. I'm so proud of myself. I don't ever tell myself that about anything. I've accomplished a lot in my short 24 years, considering where I came from. I don't give myself credit, and part of this journey is going to be dedicated to giving my self credit.
Ok, so, if you lasted this long. Sorry. But also, share some of the victories you've overcome -- weightless related or not. Do you give yourself credit? or do you beat yourself up over those things we called mistakes. Mistakes are okay, there is nothing wrong with mistakes. It's how we grow.

Fantastic self-control - you're in charge of what you eat, not the other way round. Brilliant attitude!0
