'Continue The Story' Game

I write for a living so I thought it might be fun to write a little story and then have each poster continue it. Warning: I write horror fiction, so this may not be for everyone. Okay, here we go.
Edward's mother had always warned him about the men in the white coats coming to take him away. But when they finally arrived, they weren't wearing white coats at all. They weren't even doctors. They were two policeman with shiny silver badges over their breast pocket and a black leather belt with a weave pattern that contained all sorts of tools. They handcuffed him and walked him out to the cruiser and drove him to the mental hospital on the outskirts of town.
It was a large sprawling structure that looked as if a giant kid had spread his toy buildings all over the living room floor haphazardly and then went to dinner and left them behind. The main building was red brick, and the windows were barred with black wrought iron cages. The patrol car pulled up the front door and Edward could see some men come out through the plexiglass shield that separated the front seat from the back seat.
The men who waited by the patrol car as the policemen radioed into their dispatch center weren't wearing white coats either. They were wearing blue scrubs and one of them had a clipboard that he drummed against his leg to a beat only he could hear. Edward leaned back from the divider as the police officers got out and opened his door.
"I'm not crazy you know," Edward said to the one that was pulling him out by the shoulder. "I'm as sane as you are."
"Buddy, I ain't no shrink," the cop said pulling at his shoulder harder. "But it seems to me that anyone who points a loaded gun at his head and pulls the trigger has got to have a screw or two loose. Good thing the damn thing misfired."
"It wasn't me," Edward said wearily. "Like I already told your dispatcher, it was the leprechauns."
"No, you're right," the cop said seriously. "You're as sane as me." The two policeman cackled as they pulled and pushed Edward to the three doctors standing in a semi-circle at the steps.
