Ok, I am headed to the pool with the kids. I have plugged in 120 minutes of swimming leisurely, general and it says I will burn 1100 ish calories! I will be there a lot longer then this and yes, i am a fish and am in the water 90% of the time.
Can this calorie count be right? It seems so high! And no I do not have a HRM and this is based on a 5'3" 216 pound woman in her late 30's if that matters..

that is only if you SWIM, actually SWIM that 120 minutes. if you are just in the water hanging and all that then no you wont just laast night i was swimming laps, very vigurosly ( i was outta breath every five minutes) i did 5 mins swim, one mins rest, did it 5 times, and it says i burned 235 cal. so you would burn ~1400 if you did what i did for 120 mins, but keep in mind that i was doing it vigorously
also check different "swimmings", i always log it the ones that show the least, so i wont be dissapointed when i wont lose any, or just little weight,
hope that helps.
and have fun at the pool!!!0 -
Don't worry about how much it burns! Just enjoy the time with the kids, that's the important part!0

are you really going to be swimming the ENTIRE time? like in the deep end treading water? that would probably burn that many calories, but I recken you might get in and out a few times,is let your feet touch the water.
The other thing you have to remember about swimming is your body is cool from the water so your not sweating etc so it doesn't really feel like you are burning calories but you are.
Usually when I go swmming I only log half the time I was actually SWIMMING, because I do find mfps count to be very high for this activity.0 -
Yes I swim, I don't just hang out. Also we will be there from 9 am to about 4pm so I only estimated being in the water for two whole hours. out of all that.
I will try to make good food choices so it wont matter much. Thanks!!0
