NSV: junk food!

So we're in the middle of the heat wave and last night I decided to treat the kids to Dairy Queen for supper. Got their meals at the drive thru, then got myself a sandwich at Tim Horton's. We went to the park, had a picnic, let them play in the splash pad...then we went back to DQ to redeem their dessert vouchers. I got myself a *small* caramel sundae. Well it was so hot out and the sundae was so good...I ate the whole thing. A few months ago, this would have been nothing. I've scarfed down large Blizzards faster than I ate that sundae last night. But the weird thing was, I felt sick after I finished it. Not sick with guilt, but it actually upset my stomach because I'm not used to eating sweets in that large a quantity anymore. This is such a victory for me, because sweets have always been my undoing. So, yay me!! I've proven to myself that I can "un-acquire" a taste for junk food!!

    WOO-HOO!! Congratulations!!:flowerforyou:

It is STILL amazing to me when I over-indulge and my stomach rebels!! A few months ago that was 'Normal' eating and my stomach didn't know the difference!

I know what you mean. I have had that experience a few times since I started this in March. (As a matter of fact the last time we went to DQ I got a mini blizzard and only ate 1/2 of it- then got home feeling ill.)
