Rapid weight loss question

Hello!
So I have been on a plateau for about 3-4 months at around 160 (I started out at 180, and my goal is 135). Since I have been home for the summer I've been been eating okay at home, but not always the best going out to eat (which wasn't that often). However, I also started running and about 2 weeks ago I started the 30 DS and have been eating MUCH cleaner (about 98% of my diet).
Anyway, since the time I started with better eating and the 30 DS I have lost 4 pounds straight. I'm just really surprised, and I know I shouldn't be losing that much so quickly. I was wondering if anyone might have any ideas for this. I have been keeping my protein intake high, and I except for one whole wheat english muffin a day I only get my carbs from fruit and veggies - so I don't think I am losing muscle.
Thanks!

try cutting back carbs to 100g or less for a few weeks & keep eating clean. You're doing great!0

When I got over my plateau, I dropped 6lb in a week. My doc said it was normal.
When I was in the hospital and dropped 40+lb in 5 days (that I didn't have to lose), that wasn't okay.
If you become more concerned about it, talk to your doctor. Here's a website that might help if you're deficient in any vitamins: http://www.something-fishy.org/dangers/vitamins.php0 -
Since you started jogging and the 30 day shred....there's no reason why you couldn't have dropped four pounds in a few weeks. Especially if you have been drinking more water. That usually tends to get your body to release water it's been retaining. Sometimes a large loss can be water weight. I remeber when I really started working out, I didn't lose anything for weeks, and then all of a sudden it just dropped! No need to worry. If your eating habits are good and you are working out, you should be losing weight! Keep it up0

I think every once in a while, that much is OK. But sustained, not OK. I wouldn't expect it to continue.0

With 30DS, you're working your body a lot harder than if you were just running alone. It surprises the muscles with different routines which burns more calories. You're doing fine. Also, keep eating clean.0

Thanks guys! I figured it was probably water weight that my body was holding on to while it was getting used to the new exercise. I'm just so glad to see it moving!0

I thought losing 2 lbs a week was still considered healthy loss...0 -
I was just reading about a way to lose fat quickly over 3 weeks but then to have a recovery time...I think you should be fine if you continue eating lots of vegys and fruits for the vitamins and after 3 weeks-max slow down the weightloss have a 30 day recovery time-adding in more calories, carbs-high quality. Be careful eating high protein for a long time...
I have 2 children with kidney failure and new kidney transplants. I am one of the kidney donors. None of us can eat high protein diets because of the stress on the kidney... We've been told over and over by the Renal(kidney) specialists. Be careful and don't do it for a long time-make sure you have your recovery period and add in those extra carbs along with all your fruits and vegys. Thank you for sharing your success!

It's not unhealthy, but I doubt very many could sustain that amount indefinitely, especially as you get closer to goal weight. I wish!0
