I don't know how to calibrate this meal!

I'm finding this annoying! We went to California Pizza Kitchen and I got a full Chinese Chicken salad. It says on the site it's around 700 calories, BUT I got it without wontons, and I got the dressing on the side. I barely used any of the dressing. Most of it was still in the heaping bowl they put it in. So basically it was lettuce, some scallions, and a few pieces of sliced chicken. Frankly...I'm now hungry...but the only way I can properly put the calories in, is by what's on the website. Which is saying 700 calories went to my lettuce and chicken salad. I'm not sure how to figure this out correctly for the day. I feel I need to eat more..but it will put me way in the red. How would you work this? Thanks!

You know what they say about Chinese food...I think the best you can do is "guesstimate."

Log what you ate as individual foods. If you ate two cups of lettuse and a portion of chicken, enter it like that.

The chicken they put in the salads is usually about a 4 oz breast. I would use that to estimate the chicken, and guess on the lettuce and veggies to come up with the base. Most of the calories in that salad were in what you eliminated, especially the dressing, so figure out about how much dressing you had and compare it with a full calorie dressing in your fridge or in the database. You should be able to come close.

I probably would just count it as 700 and go over. Since you really won't be going over.

So find a measurement for the amount of grilled chicken ou think you ate, add a bowl of greens, add 1 tbsp of a vinegrette dressing and call it a day.

This isn't an exact science. I'd put down 300 Add Quick Calories and forget about it.

I would just put .75 as the serving of the salad- that should take enough off to lower the intake

That is what I did last week.

I'd probably just be lazy & count it as half a serving. Lol. So 350 calories.

Break it up as best as you can. The dressing and wontons are probably the killer. I'd guess about 250 calories at most.
