I'm new. I'm finding it interesting and helpful to log what I usually try to keep roughly in my head regarding calories, protein and whatever I am eating. Checking out calories amazes me; especially when there are more or less than I previously thought. I am a label reader and careful eater so I figured that was good enough, but I find that I often over or underestimate what I am actually eating. I need a lot of protein and this is helping me keep track of that too. My daughter is doing this with me and she is having fun using the computer to track her eating habits. I think it will be great.

Welcome! I never counted calories before MFP. My daughter has type 1 diabetes, so I always count carbs for her meals. Now I count calories and carbs for everything, which makes the grocery shopping trips a little longer than usual. Reading labels is more interesting than I thought it would be.
Best of luck to you and your daughter. Feel free to add me.0 -
