Good morning!
How are you all doing today? I'm worse and yet cheered up. Alex woke up in a great mood singing and making noises and then the screaming and hips attachment started. I still have a sore throat. :grumble:
But the good news is that I think I have found the key to my weight loss! No sweets! I joined a no sweets challenge and since then I have consistently lost! I am having to scrap the allergy diet thing since Alex and I are sick, but I'm adding foods back in slowly. So a couple of the pounds may come back on. I started the challenge when I weighed 153 at the last part of October. I weighed in this morning and lost another 2 pounds this week! For a total of 6.5 pounds! In two weeks! At first I was getting concerned, but I AM eating, just eating differently and not so much. I am so excited to be back down to 146. My hubby said I am in such a better mood, even with all the sickness, and I just feel better! So the goal is only to have sweets once a month. We'll see how well that goes. It may be twice this month(b-day and T-day).
Goals for the day:
push ups
water (lots and lots!)
airborne
maybe a work out if I can get it in
Sorry for the long post!

Good for you MM! I wish I could stay away from sweets.

Today is weigh in day for me, so I'm hoping to see a 1 pound drop, but if I don't, I can tell I am losing because my pants are fitting a lot better. I'll try not to be too disappointed if the scale stays the same.

    Today's goals:
Gym workout in about 30 minutes
    Shred tonight
    Drink my water
Stay away from the donuts in the office :)

Yeah MM! I have to limit my sweet intake, though I can't do without them. I'm finding I don't like really sweet stuff now that I'm trying to eat intuitively. Sweets are one of those foods that the more you eat them, the more you want them. It helps to cut all sugars out of the diet for a while. So many of our foods have added sugar, when they shouldn't. If you stop buying these foods, the true desserts taste sweeter.

Anyway, yesterday I walked a little over 5 miles. Today I'm going for an errand ride and maybe some more walking. Also, my push ups, as I didn't do them yesterday as I was sore from weights class.

I'm still working on slowing down my eating. I haven't been reading while eating, so I'm eating more quickly, though probably less food. I take breaks during meals - get up do the dishes, etc - to slow myself down - I'm open to other ideas though.

My major progress is that I'm beginning to realize when I've had enough food - though brain is having a hard time with the leaving food on plate.

    Have a great Friday, y'all.

Mary, I have the same problem with leaving food on my plate thanks to my dad's way of eating. I need to work on that.
gmukris, congrats on your pants fitting better! Awesome! I'm debating on trying on my 12's again to see how much further I have to go before I can squeeze into them again.
I did my push ups. I got interrupted towards the end by a little boy getting in trouble, which ticked me off so I pumped more out. Ha ha. Anybody want to tick me off before my test? I managed to get out 67 in a row! I know I am not going that low right now, but that's okay. I'll work on that a little more next week.

Congrats to everyone on their progress! I agree about the sweets - eating some always makes me eat more. But I allow a treat a few times a week - as long as it's one that I really enjoy. I got a cookie at the coffeeshop the other day that looked really good, but it really wasn't. I ate most of it before I realized I just wasn't enjoying it and threw it away. That is tough to do! Mary, does drinking water during you meal help to slow you down at all?

I'm a little more active at work today because we are cleaning out tons of cabinets filled with old manuals and equipment. Yay. I hope to get a walk in, too, since it looks like the weather is about to cool down. Then laundry and packing. Mary, I sent you a PM about Austin.

Rach - I hope you got your nap today! And Viv, I hope you time on the picket line is short-lived. Wear a hat! Have a great weekend, all! :flowerforyou:

Today was a day off from the picket line (I signed up for one "long day" of picket duty next week)

Yeah, I'm lobster red in the face for not thinking of taking my hat yesterday. Ugh.

    Today is:
    trying to stay positive.
    water
    vits
    bikram.

Hope the days are going well. . .looks like some encouraging progress. Yep, sweets are a thing that really trouble me. I notice when I include them (even staying within calories) I'll gain weight. So, I try to really limit them. (easier when I write wheat out of the ocassion, as gluten-free sweets are way harder to come by.)

    Take care of yourselves,
    V.:flowerforyou:

Wow it's been a busy couple of days and I feel like I have been gone for a week. No exercise the day of the election. But I managed to get a 30 minute speed walking tour of the college I took the MiddleSchool too and alot of stairs to boot. Today I managed a walk up the hill to my daughter's house and back. Not doing so well on the eating end though.

I won't be posting for a couple of day as we are heading out to ME to have a girls weekend away. I will see you all when I get back. Great progress by eveyone! Sorry to hear your walking a picket line Vivia, that has to be boring. See you in a few.

Oh, man is it ever. When the highlight of your day is getting to change the direction in which you're circling, this is not a good day. The positive spin I'm trying to put on it is that it's extra cardio.
