Left over egg yolks - is there anything I can do with them?

Hey all,

At the moment, I'm going through 6 eggs per day, sometimes more. Two of them are eaten whole, but I only eat the whites of of the rest. That leaves me with at least 4 left over egg yolks at the end of each day.

Rather than binning and wasting egg yolks at a rate of over 28 per week / over 121 yolks per month / over 1460 yolks per year (i.e. a lot of egg yolks) can they be put to good use someway, somewhere?

(I hope someone tells me that egg yolks are necessary for cancer research or something.)

Got a dog? OR a friend with a dog? Egg yolks are great for their coats and skin with all their Omega 3 fatty acids. (How many per week depends on the dog's size.)

Quite buying regular eggs and buy the carton of egg whites. It will help prevent waste!

I used to give my egg yolk to my dog. My reasons were different..can't stand the things. Just stick to liquid egg whites

OK, So I don't really have a tip on using them... but you can store them well if you put the individual yolks in a ice cube tray... freeze, and then transfer into a baggie. They will keep longer. Then maybe you can slip them to your neighbor's/friend's dog in smaller amounts.

    Doggie Eggsicles.

    or...

Facial mask 1: mix one egg yolk, one teaspoon honey and a teaspoon olive oil and some vitamin E oil if you have it. Smooth on and leave on for 15 min. , rinse in lukewarm water and pat dry. If your skin is a bit dry you can put a dab or two of either olive oil, or any other light oil.

Facial mask 2: just apply the raw yolk to your face and neck for 30 minutes and rinse with cool water. Egg yolks are high in vitamin A. The mask is very effective in healing blemishes.

I just gave my leftover yolks to my dog. But if you don't have a dog I would look into egg beaters or liquid yolks. I would do that if I didn't have a dog, I hate seeing the yolks go to waste!

You could occasionally make pasta carbonara ;)

I use mushrooms instead of pancetta to make it healthier.

Based on my research I see no reason not to eat them. But to each their own.
