I have a bad habit of munching on food when I'm bored or when I'm studying. Does anyone have any advise as to how I can curb this?

I struggle with this too. What helps me (although I will admit I don't always do it) is doing some kind of quick little exercise instead of snacking when I'm bored. Sometimes drinking water & really focusing on the fact that I am doing it will help too....just to keep my mind busy. I don't know if you like to read but I do like to read and sometimes I can get lost in a book & forget about wanting to snack.
  • you should eat carrots, they are good for you plus are low in calories, but if you add something to dip them in then you might get into trouble. but spinach dip is good. good luck!

Drink water instead, or only put healthy, low cal snacks in front of you like carrot sticks or some air popped popcorn. Also, make sure you portion control: don't put the whole bag of snacks in front of you, measure out what you want and put it in a bowl instead.

I have this problem too and I think these things help me!

I was going to say stock up on "good" snacks and eat until your hearts content. I have the same problem and I'm also an habituat eater; in fornt of tv or watching a film.

I also agree with Sherry do something, even if just for a while, to take your mind off eating.

Well, it does take energy to study. Maybe your body is telling you that it needs food. When I have exams, I tend to eat more, especially if I have to stay up all night.
    Suggestions:
    Almonds are great snacks.
Other than that, eat a meal before you study, that way you won't be hungry:)
