"I love you sweetie, happy anniversary" sounds pretty good to me, regardless of a fight...

be the bigger person and apologize. as women, it is easier to hold a grudge than step up first, but it's an option..good luck

Yep, don't bring it up, just move on. If he wants to talk about it, set some rules. No arguing, no yelling, and each must have a turn to listen. It took me and mine 6 years to work that out. Good luck!

I'm guessing "Don't go to bed mad" is out of the question at this point, however, regardless of how big the fight was, and who said what to who (yes, I know, easier said that done), this is the person you have loved for two years. Even if it's telling him you are sorry (even if you don't fully mean it and/or even if you think you are not to blame for any of it - there really are 2 people in a relationship..) and happy anniversary, you'd be surprised at how amazing that can turn the situation around for the better. I hope it gets better and you guys can enjoy the rest of the day together.

Be the first to apologize. It doesn't take much to say you're sorry and mean it. You get better at these things with time.

Put it aside, admit that you guys need to talk about the issue, but for today focus on the reason why you got married in the first place. Make sure you tell him.

    ^This.
  • All relationships are difficult, friends, dating, family, and yes marriage. Been married over 21 years, some days we just don't like each other. Notice I said LIKE not LOVE. I'll always love him, even when I can't stand him ;). When you are in it for the long hall you find a way back.

Where do you want this relationship to go? When you answer that question honestly, you'll have your answer.

Seems to me that you broke our cardinal rule #1: never go to bed fighting. It needs resolved.

SO true. I've realized that with my bf. We have been friends for 4 years and know each other very well. We've loved each other for a very long time. We've only been dating 3 months (today!). We are in a long distance relationship until November, and it's hard! A couple times we've really wondered if we made the right decision because the distance sucks sooo much, and every day is not the fairy tale romance we expected (we are both big daydreamers). But even if we get frustrated with each other, we don't stop loving each other, and we don't stop telling each other about it either! You just never know what will happen. Make your time with him count.

Disagreements are bound to happen in any real relationship. The secret is not to give up and to keep on talking. These difficult moments in ajny relationship can bring you closer as a couple. Talk with your heart, and say it with love. Communication is the key to any relationship.. but to truly communicate there is no yelling or screaming. It requires a lot of listening and some honesty. Remember that time heals all wounds... your anniversary is special! Celebrate your accomplishment!

It depends on your personality and tone of voice, but I'd say something like, "It's our anniversary, dammit. I don't want us to fight or be mad at each other. So happy frickin' anniversary, you *kitten*!"

(But '*kitten*' is a term of endearment with us.)

Im not sure how Id react, as my hubby and I always work out our fights before we go to bed that same day and we've been married 7 years and together almost 9. Id definitely talk to him.. Apologize if need be, I know I have to be the first a lot of times, otherwise we may still be in a fight lol.

Mine is something like LorinaLynn's comment....I have been with my Husband for 12 years and married for 9 of those 12 years. We used to go to bed angry in the early stages of our relationship, now either Him or myself say something crazy and we are back the way we were. He will say " Get over here, then he will say something from the TV show Martin, which is always funny OR I will say "I HATE YOUR FACE", from my favorite movie Grandma's Boy and we will laugh, kiss and hug and its over...Its more fun to make up then to be mad at each other, I have learned this from years of experience  Have a happy anniversary Hun!!

Yes,humble yourself and apoligize, even if you dont want to. If it gets brought up,just tell him that you rather talk than fight and that you want to enjoy the day with him.its not worth arguing. Happy anniversary:)
