Eggs and Egg Whites

I was wondering about sort of thing you can buy at grocery stores that aren't just pure egg whites but the powdered or liquid form. I would like to start using them because I don't really like egg yolks or the fat/cholesterol in them. So basically, are there any down sides? Is it really manufactures? Do they contain high fructose corn syrup?

I'm not sure, but my husband and I find it cheaper to buy a dozen eggs and separate the yolks from the whites ourselves.0

the fat/cholesterol in eggs is good for you! Dont be afraid to eat it......I think any of that processed 'egg white' stuff is not good. Just read your labels, you are probably better of cracking the egg and separating the whites yourself, or just eating the whole egg!!0

Don't worry about the fat or cholesterol in eggs. They are whole in nature for a reason.
Besides, all those egg white products are so processed.0 -
I believe anything packaged is suspect. I buy the organic eggs and separate them myself. I figure, it is the best way of eliminating chemicals. But who knows for sure. Yokes that I don't eat go to the doggies.
On the cholesterol thing. A little more complicated than ingesting it. Bad cholesterol can be formed in the body, from a bad diet.0 -
I buy egg whites in a carton made by Two Chicks - I've got to be careful with my fat intake and these are great...nothing added just pure egg whites. I'm in the UK though so not sure what the States would have??0

Same here and it's not difficult to do! :happy:0 -
I started buying Eggland's best again. My mom would always buy them when I was younger, still living at home. They ar a lot better for you than regular eggs0

Don't worry overly about the fat and cholesterol in eggs. Egg yolks are where the nutrients are, not much to egg whites so why bother with them. And definitely stay away from egg beaters, nothing good for you there.0
